Official 2025 Nebraska Cardiac Beaver Slayers Baseball Thread (7-11) - We suck again

Let me preface this with a qualifying statement:

If OPS is up, strikeouts aren’t as big of a concern of mine.

But since OPS is the worst in the conference, strikeouts now are a huge concern of mine. And it’s becoming a staple of Husker baseball. Brice Matthews struck out an absurd amount, but it didn’t matter that much because he was going to hit 20 bombs.
Exactly literally just had this conversation with a buddy

For those of you who have played/coached/been involved with baseball, what are your thoughts on a team constantly changing their lineup? Is that normal? I understand our hitting sucks so far this year but do you think its better to constantly change your lineup or do you think its best to just keep the same lineup and let guys work through their hitting issues?

Although we're experienced, you can't keep running guys out game after game after game in hopes of them eventually breaking thru.

Swanny .182 with 17 K's (15 starts)
Frost .192 with 15 K's (13 starts)

And Carey isn't much better. Our offense has been hot fucking garbage so far.

At some point, you have to mix it up.

I appreciate the approach more than just keeping guys in certain spots.

Another Horn start & can't get past the 5th. All 9 starts of his young career.

Bullpen or weekday time.

Worthley on and can’t get the first guy he faces out.

Relief pitchers simply have to come on throwing strikes and its insanely important to get the first guy you see out.

Worthley finally throws a strike after 5 straight balls.

So do I torcher myself and watch the same old shit where hitters can’t hit and pitchers can’t find the zone?

Or do I turn this shit off?

Something tells me the Huskers go down in order in the top of the 6th and we lose by 10+

Pop open a cold one, or mix a few good ones and enjoy a day loaded with great match-ups.

Good hoops games right now, and solid baseball games starting soon including MiLB breakout games.

I thought about going down to spring training this year in Florida. Decided against it this year. Maybe do Arizona next year.

Remember when we were ranked and beat vandy
