Official 2025 Nebraska Cardiac Beaver Slayers Baseball Thread (4-6)

Going to be tougher not to with:
Broderick ( Back)
Worthley ( Hamstring)
Timmerman ( Face)

all hurting and below 100%

Broderick & Worthley were fully cleared to pitch this past weekend. If either wasn't up to it, they should've been held out or at the least be limited to 1 appearance. Our season is more important than opening weekend.

It still doesn't excuse going to Christo when the following guys hadn't thrown a single pitch all weekend; Daiss, Coats, Clark, Olson, White, Blachowicz & Unger. (And I haven't cross referenced the travel roster to see who actually made the trip or was actively available).

I'd much rather watch a fresh arm get experience, especially a freshmen, over Christo on opening weekend in game 4. Even if that means we lose a game, so be it, as experience is invaluable.

Cleared to pitch and 100% are two different things.

But I agree with you 100% on your post.

And 9/10 times we lose or are losing the game with Christo in, new baseball white flag.

Meh, being 100% healthy & ready to go is very rare, even to begin the season. This isn't a knock on the players, it's just how things are with a short ramp up time & winter weather.

Both guys had really good outings prior to Arizona, without injury setback.
