Put him in the bullpen and let him max out for an inning or two. He's someone that could actually leverage for us 2 times a weekend. I'd take a gamble and say even on b2b days too.
There's so much young talent on the current staff, and incoming, I'm officially out with Horn as a starter.
I know that you’ve been on this point for some time so this doesn’t apply to you. But for the others reading I will say that yesterday isn’t evidence for this point.
I tend to agree that I’m out on him as a weekend starter with the caveat that I’m not saying I’m out indefinitely. Just for the time being.
I will say, first time ever he didnt get the full week ( 1 inning vs UNO) and he responded with 5 walks and 0 strikeouts after only walking 10 in his first 30 innings.
Pretty much irrelevant since he's built up as a starter, and so is his bp schedule. He can convert in 2025, but it'll take a couple weeks to get things prepped.
Taking it a step further, he had 0 BB's in the first inning v Rutgers. And 0 against Omaha.
Hitters aren’t adjusting worth a shit. The 10’ ft of dirt in front of the plate is gonna be a crater field after this game as we continue to beat balls into the ground.
@PonyBoy@HuskerBaseball any idea what's up with Helligso? McLaughlin has said the last 2 days he's unavailable. With Jesske potentially out after the play at the plate, guessing Cymbalista would be next up?

Not to hijack this thread, but my old team is putting together a nice season so far down in Lawrence. Big 12 isn't as strong of a conference as it has been, but still winning the games they should...
UC Irvine 23-7
GCU 21-11
Louisiana 16-18
LSU 30-3
K State 20-11
Washington 16-17 ( 8-4 in B1G 4th )
UCLA 25-6 ( 10-2 in B1G 1st )
USC 20-11 ( 9-5 in B1G 5th)
Oregon ST 22-7
Rutgers 15-17 (5-7 B1G)
I think the Louisiana, Pickle Smoochers and Omaha losses are REALLY bad. Washington was winnable but they really swung it that series. The loss to Rutgers happens, its tough to sweep teams.

We are over .500 if we beat Pickle Smoochers, Omaha, and win the Louisiana series and things don't look nearly as bad. We'd still have a decent enough RPI
We’ve got some younger guys I like. Need to find a couple of dudes who hit the ball for power. Nobody in our lineup when there’s a bit situation in a game makes the other team say “Fuck, not this guy in this spot.”
