So the Oregon mich state is completely meaningless then, correct? So Oregon will most likely save their best arms for Nebraska

This format is so stupid.
The good news is they Oregon and MSU don’t play until Thursday, so at least some of their pitching staff will be unavailable on Friday

We’ve got several days to rest our arms

Also, the semifinals are at 3:00 on saturday and the championship is at 3:00 on Sunday

If Oregon wants to win the tourney they will have to play 4 games in 4 days

Not sure how you manage your staff in a situation like that

Win or go home for the year. All 4 of those guys threw over 40 pitches, and I know some don't typically go that long, but would assume everyone is available for Friday?

I really don't think Oregon cares how they do beyond Friday. Of course winning the tournament would be nice for them, but the biggest fish is securing a top seed in the regional and hosting. I would think that if that's not already locked up, they would do that with a win on Friday.

Then I could be way off too.

Broderick went longer than he normally does so I don't know if you use him on Friday unless you need him in the 9th

We've got two experienced starting pitchers that can go on Friday and Saturday in Brockett and Walsh, and then we can roll with Timmerman or Horn on Sunday

Or Maybe you start Brockett on Friday and then bring in Walsh as your reliever, then start Horn or Timmerman on Saturday, and then Start Horn or Timmerman on Sunday

Horn didn't go very long so I would think him on Saturday and Timmerman on Sunday if that situation arose

If we beat Oregon on Friday we play either USC, PSU, or Washington on Saturday

Those teams will also be playing with a little lest rest than us, so that kind of bodes in our favor as well

I wonder if losing to MSU on Thursday will affect Oregon's NCAA tourney seeding at all

If they want to win the tournament they start their backup outfielder at pitcher against Michigan State because that game makes no difference at all. Stupid.
