The idea was for him to throw Friday & Sunday and is more valuable in those roles compared to once a week. For me, he should be our Saturday starter now with Mac out for the season. Especially with Christo seeking to settle in.

Building up pitch count to starter numbers would be difficult but J is a competitor & may be able to do it over the next 2 to 2.5 weeks.

Keep in mind, J was hurt to start the season and his last 2 outings (plus today) looks like he's full strength.

Id go Timmerman Saturday and if J's healthy and they want to go that route give him Sunday
