October recruiting thread

Big, big recruiting weekend - latest Wiltfong update from about 9am EDT

(Correction on Pyfrom - Wiltfong is wrong. I was told Pyfrom said this morning he is going to Lincoln today but just to tailgate with his Dad. He is not attending the game.)

Big recruiting weekend takes shape at Nebraska

It’s turned into a pretty big recruiting weekend at Nebraska as Matt Rhule and the Huskers aim to improve to 5-3 on Saturday afternoon with Big Ten opponent Purdoodoo coming to town.

A good showing would help the Huskers push for a Top25 recruiting class.

Rhule and his staff will his their top remaining target in the 2024 class, we also log a new 247Sports Crystal Ball in favor of the Huskers, there is a flip watch, and there is a couple other rising seniors visiting that could ultimately end up playing their college football in Lincoln.
There is also a nice group of 2025 prospects expected.

The big news first. Logan (Cockeye) Magnolia Top247 offensive tackle Grant Brix will visit Nebraska on Saturday, a source tells 247Sports. This visit comes as a surprise as Brix had previously said he wasn’t going to take anymore visits.

Brix appears to be favoring the Huskers and Oklahoma at this point in his process. He is expected to be back in Norman for the West Virginia game.

In addition to the belief the Brix family has in Rhule getting this storied Nebraska program back on track, proximity is something many believe is a major factor in this process and that obviously helps the Huskers as well. Brix will play in the All-American Bowl following his senior season and has all the traits to be a special player at the point of attack for his school of choice for years to come. There has always been confidence around Lincoln in this recruitment but it's for sure a battle with Oklahoma.

Now for the 247Sports Crystal Ball Forecast. Frisco (Texas) Lone Star edge rusher Jaxon Lee was offered by Nebraska this month and has posted eight sacks and eight and a half tackles for loss for a state title contender. Evan Cooper and Omar Hales have led the charge in recruiting Lee and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him jump into the fold soon. The Huskers currently have 247Sports No. 26 ranked recruiting class. Many of those guys will be back.

The potential flip watch is Miami (Fla.) Norland cornerback Larry Tarver Jr. Tarver gave Maryland a verbal back in June. Nebraska offered this month and a good weekend could lead to good news. I like the way it’s trending.

What else?

Omaha (Neb.) Central offensive lineman Caleb Pyfrom will visit. If the Huskers are pushing I think they’ll land the former Illinois commit.

Las Vegas (Nev.) Bishop. Gorman offensive tackle Alexander Ruggeroli and Arizona receiver commit Audric Harris plan to be there. Similar to Pyfrom, I think Nebraska could close Ruggeroli and an offer to Harris could be a game-changer.

Prized 2025 prospects coming include Top247 defensive end London Merritt, Top247 offensive linemen Seusea Alofaituli and Douglas Utu and offensive tackle Malachi Goodman. Offensive tackle Will Tompkins is an offer candidate. 2025 running back Lucas Farrington is another name to know.

Where the running backs at @EJ?
same thought crossed my mind. Only two home games after this weekend.

On Brix, he told Thune that if any time in the process he becomes comfortable with a decision he'd cancel his remaining visits.

(Note correction above on Pyfrom)
