Welcome to The Platinum Board. We are a Nebraska Husker news source and fan community.
Sign Up Now!It's possible that we are basically full and that players like Brix and Benning are the only takes left out there on our board that we would make room for. The absence of any movement towards these plan B style guys seems to imply that we are happy with what we have and just waiting on an answer from 1 or 2 '24 guys.Nuku Mafi and Semisi Tonga committed to Okie St yesterday, They looked to have been our OL Plan Bs - we had scheduled them for visits and kept pushing the visits back

Is oline the best position to be heavy in high school recruits? You know in a year if they're going to be any good right? You go heavy on oline, light on WR's and RB's. Portal lineman out WR/RB in as needed.Supposedly we are also talking with Andrew Dennis about a possible OV. He is committed to Michigan St currently. He visited Purdue a week ago.

Definitely seems like the availability of good OL in the portal and their price makes it the position you want to hit out of high school. East to sell skill guys on touches and opportunities. Is oline the best position to be heavy in high school recruits? You know in a year if they're going to be any good right? Yes. This is the correct takeIs oline the best position to be heavy in high school recruits? You know in a year if they're going to be any good right? You go heavy on oline, light on WR's and RB's. Portal lineman out WR/RB in as needed.
QB somewhere in between. Ideally you get them from high school. Harder to find in the portal than WR/RB but easier than lineman.Yes. This is the correct take
Portal OL typically not very good; hard to project HS kids also but as you say, that means you need numbers. Is oline the best position to be heavy in high school recruits? QB quality is higher with transfers in general, but even with QBs, there are only a few top transfers that are moving for money a more exposure. Lots of other teams do get starters through the portal, but I would say they tend to be average typically in the P5 scheme of things. That's probably okay if you have a good roster everywhere else.QB somewhere in between. Ideally you get them from high school. Harder to find in the portal than WR/RB but easier than lineman.
Not surprising
Happens every recruiting cycle.
The Kansas St poster who provides the slam dunk proof of your theory:Happens every recruiting cycle.
Either
1. Lol why did that school take that trash kid
2. We offer that trash kid
3. Trash kid flips and is good
Or
1. So and so isn't worth an offer
2. A better team offers
3. So and so commits to better team
4. Our staff dropped the ball
