From a white hat, back judge, or umpire it's OK because you're watching keys, not having to find ball like line of scrimmage official.
I had them twice two years ago in Lincoln. One as umpire one as line of scrimmage. Umpire was easy, line of scrimmage sucked.
On the line it's hard to watch loop/twirl/orbit motion man for any sort of illegal motion, shift, or false start, while still watching oline/WR for false starts. That loop/twirl/orbit motion man might reset and he or another man motions a second time.
Hardest part from sideline is picking up the ball and who got the handoff, especially with that loop/twirl/orbit motion away from you, because if he gets it, you can't see front of player, just his back. 2 or 3 possible guys getting the ball every play. Add in if faked out from sideline, might not see progress or fumble/down. Most of the time I never blew my whistle, just let play finish on its own.
What are you thoughts on the low block/chop clarification. Feel like it clears it up and will benefit those flexbone style teams that are really good hitting their scoops. From a white hat, back judge, or umpire it's OK because you're watching keys, not having to find ball like line of scrimmage official.

Harding university is who helped them incorporate their offense. It’s crazy they went from Bernie’s wide open passing attack to the flexbone. It seems like they made the right choice.Know the HC from days in KS. Really good S&C guy IMO. Flexbone team. He's more defensive minded. He's a good dude.

I get the safety issue but I think DBs should still be able to take on an offensive linemen low.I like both high school and college changes
2021, in high school the low block must happen at the snap without delay. That was always a struggle, what is a "delay". Like thousand 1 or 2 and low or thousand 3?
College I really like the change. There were too many exceptions and rules to the low block. The most missed low block was backside lineman on 2nd level player. Umpire is moving playside blocks and no one is watching those blocks. Might see end result of the block, now that is easy to flag because you don't have to worry about those exceptions. This rule eliminates that block completely.

I’m sure officials love the rule of no cut blocks. Takes out some subjectivity.
Played against him my sophomore year - like 3rd game of the year and he already had 3 return TDs. I was on kick coverage - I got blocked to the ground was getting up and ole Danny tripped over me. "#21 with the tackle on Woodhead" goes over the loud speaker and I said "Welcome to Fremont, bitch"20 years ago they had a guy by the name of Danny Woodhead who was pretty decent.
Where’d he ever end up? Just kidding

I loved the traditional flexbone since I played it growing up and my Dad used to coach it. I miss watching Georgia Tech run it as they were the only P5 still doing it.I understand flexbone, even played a year in it in college. I get why military schools run it and think more colleges that are incapable of recruiting athletes similar to their conference foes should consider flex bone offenses (Duke, Vandy etc)
The thing that I don’t like about the flex bone, particular in high school is usually the teams I see running flex bone are dead in the water on 3rd and 7+ and are completely inept and without answers in late game need points situations.
I also worry about HS kids who are college type offensive guys being underdeveloped for college football where they’ll likely not play in a flex bone offense. Seems like they would be at a disadvantage in recruiting. Especially at QB, WR and offensive line.
