Feels v weird. But kids on both teams today and probably don't care about that old rivalry.

Also, not that it matter but I'll mention it anyway, my undying hate for all things Texas has transformed to only a hate for UT. Spent a ton of time in Texas for work and I have to say, Texas is pretty awesome. Would be one of the few places I'd move given the opportunity.
Oh yeah they don't care, no doubt there. Just my childhood engrained fandom speaking. I don't hate the state of TX, just the University. The DFW airport is the farthest I've ever even been in the state.

I'm the same way in my childhood fandom. Texas by and large kicks ass though. DFW is sweet. Houston is sweet. San Antonio and Austin are cool. West Texas is beautiful. East Texas is awesome.

Is West Texas the rural stuff you see in movies all the time? Like small town football movies?

Depending on where you're at in Western TX...there's some spots that are awful, Midland/Odessa I'm no fan of. But there's some cool pretty scenery down in Southwest Texas and out by El Paso and some pretty epic ranches (think Four 6's from Yellowstone) out in the panhandle and west of Wichita Falls.

If someone only had a week or 2 to really experience Texas. I'd tell them to stop in Fort Worth (my favorite Texas city) for a day or two, then swing over to Hwy 281 and go south to Marble Falls, then west to Fredericksburg. And then spend the rest of your week exploring the hill country. Cool communities, great scenery, you could hop over to Austin for a day if you wanted or down to San Antonio for a day, but the hill country is the most Texan part of Texas in my opinion.

The wife and I are going to The American this March. We’ve been to NFR 3 times but never to The American. Staying in Arlington.

Nice, that'll be fun. If you get a chance go over and enjoy the Stockyards in Fort Worth. Have a beer at the White Elephant and eat some mexican food/margaritas at Joe T Garcias (cash only!)

We get in early Thursday and have basically Thursday afternoon and all Friday to ourselves. Then the rodeo is Saturday and Sunday. So we’ll have plenty of time.

If nothing else, you gotta love Mickey Joseph openly breaking dead period rules. #WeBack
Was just thinking this too…just two guys running into each other at a hotel bar sharing cocktails.

Mickey staying at the hotel, dad in the hotel, and a random meeting over a drink.

Just two fellas bumping into one another.

I wonder if Charles and Mickey have known each other for awhile. Which means that their relationship predates the recruiting process which renders these types of encounters legal.

Yeah so like Tru mentioned, I'd love to go a rodeo down in TX sometime. My wife grew up around cattle and hates the calf roping but loves everything about the rodeos in general.

I got our plane tickets in October for March. They were $380 total for two round trip tickets to Dallas. But then when you got approved for Southwest’s credit card you got a $200 statement credit. So for plane tickets, our AirBnB in Arlington, and tickets to the Rodeo I think I ended up spending around $480-500.

Goooooooooooood fuckin lord that's a hell of a deal. My best friend and his girlfriend took a fall trip to Nashville. Drove her car for gas mileage, did a cheaper hotel outside of town, and I think got out of it for everything they did for about $1500. Thought that was a good deal. You for sure win lol

I love Nashville and I would go 3-4 times a year between 2011-2014. Even from 2011 to now it has gotten REALLY commercialized. Feels less “country” and more Hollywood by the day.

Seriously, interesting question there…I’d have to believe that is a legitimate reality.

That meshes with what comes out on the radio from Nashville. Very commercialized sound, less natural country.
