We could have done a lot worse - like a buddy hire Geoff Collin’s. He has done a good job everywhere he’s been from what I have read about him.

Any guy with a proven track record at the P4 level is looking to move to a HC role, not make a lateral move. Anyone making a lateral move in the P4 is more than likely a red flag, unless they’re moving to a perennial top 10 type team. This is a boom or bust hire to me.
I’m not real impressed with it today but would love to be proven wrong. No high major DC experience. Just on the surface…not loving that.
This dude has a little autism in him. I’m sold.
You are free to leave any time.Love being the potato…
Rhule needed a home run and fucked himself. But he is kind of retarded.
Didn’t know there were so many RSS members here.
You’re basing “home run” hire off of name value to yourself. This very well could be a homerun hire. Time will tell.Love being the potato…

With our track record, does it really matter who we hire? If we make the defense better something else will get proportionally worse to ensure the same result.Rhule can’t help himself with inexperienced young coaches. Hope it works out but they’re going off of one single season of DC experience at the FBS level (and SDSU barely counts as that honestly). Absolutely huge gamble heading into a crucial year 4. Let’s all hope he’s a hidden gem and not another inexperienced coach that gets the axe after a couple years.
Why not both? Not sure if horny or angy over this hire. Either way GBR!

That's probably how it got everywhere else 🤔I just want to point out that his name was here before anywhere else again 🫡
Great post!Folks…the Happy Ending Society is pleased to report: we’re going to be just fine.
Rob Aurich isn’t a consolation prize — he’s a culture hire. This dude took a San Diego State defense that was “meh” and turned it into a Top-5 scoring defense in one year. Not with 5-stars, not with NIL superteams — with fundamentals, physicality, and elite coaching.
His defenses hit, tackle, and stop the run. They don’t beat themselves. They don’t crumble in big moments. They get better as the season goes on. Sound like something Nebraska could use?
Aurich was a Broyles Award nominee, he’s been successful at every stop, and he coaches the exact style Rhule says he wants: disciplined front-seven play, toughness in the trenches, and zero freelancing. This is how you build a Big Ten defense that travels in November.
Fresh energy. Fresh ideas. Proven results.
The Happy Ending Society is officially N on Rob Aurich.
Sometimes the right hire isn’t the splashiest name — it’s the guy who can walk in, get everyone aligned, and make your defense look like it belongs in the Big Ten again.
I am confused on my feels atm. It could be both. Why not both?
