Your take

I’m not blown away by the hire but I think I like it. I think I like it more than Banks or Knowles, but it might be because I can place optimism behind the unknown and I can’t behind the known of some of the other candidates.
I talked myself out of Knowles because I think it would take him a couple years for the D to gel (that’s been his MO) and I don’t think we have that kind of time.

Same. I would have been happy about the hire simply because we hired the biggest named assistant out there. But I would have feared his long it would have taken. A lot of man coverage and I’m not sure we have the studs in the secondary that OSU and PSU have to make that work.

Rhule can’t help himself with inexperienced young coaches. Hope it works out but they’re going off of one single season of DC experience at the FBS level (and SDSU barely counts as that honestly). Absolutely huge gamble heading into a crucial year 4. Let’s all hope he’s a hidden gem and not another inexperienced coach that gets the axe after a couple years.

How much FBS level experience did Indiana’s DC have prior to getting hired at Indiana?
