Nebrasketball vs Cockeye

Is it reasonable that I'm still nervous?

I was watching on delay due to multiple phone calls, but was still nervous until the 3:00 mark.

Good God, Husker fans have been put through a lot of shit in the past however many years for us to always be nervous.

On Black Friday 2001, I was still confident we'd win against CU midway through the 4th quarter. Now I'm nervous when Nebrasketball is up by 18 with four minutes to play, and football is up by 14 with two minutes left in the game.

One thing is for sure Hoiberg took the sit down with Turd at the end of last season and did something after it. Hired new coaches with different styles and revamped his roster. He’s responded and remolded the identity of the program.

Frost on the other hand? Same old shit.
That's because one is a professional, and the other was a frat boy.

This was sweet. Beating Cockeye both in football and basketball. Odds of this happening? Like 1 in a million? Fuck Cockeye.

That is a really bad Cockeye team. That Eastern Illinois loss was no fluke.

Not just less talent than they used to have, but they typically play hard. There was a stretch of about 3 consecutive offensive rebounds NU had where Cockeye was just going through the motions. No fight at all in them.

That's right about when I started feeling comfortable as well. Actually closer to 2 minutes than 3, but I texted my brother at 2 minutes knowing it'd be impossible to jinx a win for Nebraska.

But you're so right, we're accustomed to the other shoe dropping at the worst times.

Nebraska had something to do with them not having any fight. The level at which this Nebraska team plays defense and rebounds is this best I’ve seen it ever.

They didn’t make it easy on themselves in the early part of the year with Walker out. Also if this team would have signed the Jackson kid from KSU, who knows where they are. But I have a feeling we’ll look back and the end of the year and wish we had a few of those early losses back.

The problem is he’s going to have to do it again next year with a new roster. We lose Griesel, Walker, Gary, and Manny. We will see how the rest of the season goes - those guys might be enough to save his job for another year but next year is another beast.

Edit - Gary is a junior

We lose Gary? I'm pretty sure he has another year.

The thing about this season is that I believe Fred has identified what he is going to do in the Big Ten. He's always been able to land transfers and I think from here on out he'll look for junkyard dogs and dudes that will grind (like Gary). I also think that Eli Rice kid that is coming in is severely underrated.

Ya, say what you want about Bahe, but I thought he did an excellent job with his commentary. He talked about it multiple times - it was clear from the tip off that Nebraska just wanted it a lot more. They fought for everything and looked like they were having fun while doing it!

I could be off. That’s my bad
