Nebrasketball Recruiting Thread

Is our hit rate on high school recruits literally 0% over the last 6 years? Other than McGowens, has every HS kid signed been a flop?

2019)
Samari Curtis- flop
Yven Oudreogo- flop
Akol Arop- flop
Kevin Cross- had a decent career but not at nebraska

2020)
Eduardo Andre- mediocre career not at nebraska
Elijah Wood- flop
Lat Mayen- flop

2021)
Bryce McGowens- nba (7-23 here)
Wilhelm (Goggles)- flop
Oleg Kojenets- flop
Quaran McPherson- flop

2022)
Ramel Lloyd Jr- flop
Jamarcus Lawrence- contributor
Blaise Keita- flop
Denim Dawson- flop

2023)
Eli Rice- showed flashes, but hasnt scored a point for penn st this year (likely flop)

Matar Diop- avg 1.5 ppg at loyola this year (likely flop)

2024)
Nick Janowski- tbd redshirt
Braden Frager- tbd redshirt

2025)
Quentin Rhymes- tbd (i’ll bet he flops while Bahl turns into Scheierman 2.0)

Thank God for the portal!

Maybe the dad is referring to us not offering out of HS? Idk, the kid went juco so if he wasnt even a qualifier out of HS bad look on the dad
I'm not even sure that's his dad, but he's an idiot regardless. He didn't even play his junior and senior seasons of HS in the state of Nebraska. His last in-state season he averaged 5 ppg playing for Omaha Bryan.

Some people look for any reason at all to be aggrieved.

That is extremely depressing

Although I do think Janowski and Frager will both be the best of the bunch outside of Bryce and maybe Lawrence if you want to count him

Agreed last year was about filling out a roster this year will be about getting some big dogs with NIL to replace Brice and Gary. I think we’ve positioned ourselves nicely over the last couple years to land a couple big transfers. Having Mast back will be nice as well.
Sadly beyond those two the rest of our team does not look like basketball players. So hard to watch them.

Gotcha, i just saw the auburn shirt and assumed it was. I wasnt aware he didnt play here his jr/sr year

The season needs to end with positive momentum for the NIL to pickup.

They need to get to the tournament and win a game, BAD.
Dont forget revenue-sharing. I'm assuming MBB will get the 2nd-biggest piece of the pie. Good mid-major programs like Gonzaga and St Marys, along with the whole Big East, will not have $22M in revenue to give to athletes because they don't have TV contracts with football driving the bus.

He was going to need a year in a college strength and conditioning program as is.

Have been told that the staff is still very high on both Frager and Janowski.
No inside info, but with the trends of how college basketball works now, I'd be shocked if we held on to both for next year.

I totally get if you've heard and don't want to put it out there but I'm going to ask anyway. Have you heard of anyone that there's been talk of entering the transfer portal. Nebraska players of course.
