Nebrasketball Recruiting Thread

Do we have any open HS spots in ‘25 for a guy like Bryson Bahl?

If history taught us anything we’ll be battling the big boys for Bryson Bahl in the portal in 3 years. Get him now?

How much better is Quentin Rhymes than Bryson Bahl?
Bahl is already signed with South Dakota St.

Can somebody who knows more about basketball explain to me what makes zero P5 offer Quentin Rhymes a take, while Bahl isnt?

A while back, Washut said that we spent around $2.5 mil this year which was in the top half of the BIG.

I also saw a rumor that we paid Bearkat nearly a million to come here. Tfwiw.
If we paid berke close to a million we got fleeced. Should have went after Tonje instead of goggles and essegian. I dont believe 2.5 mil. is in the top half of the big 10.

I heard directly that the 1890 pool for volleyball is $2.1 million (this past season). I'd be surprised if basketball wasn't at least a couple steps up from that.

Yeah, you'd think. This is what Rockin Robin said.

@Robin Washut - I keep hearing Nebrasketball has worse NIL in place than KSU, Pickle Smoochers, Cockeye, ISU. We beat out multiple P5 teams for Berke, Griffiths, Morgan all while paying Mast, Brice, Juwan. Any truth to our NIL not measuring up?
It's around $2.5 million. Kansas State, Pickle Smoochers, and Cockeye State all have way more NIL. Not so much Cockeye. I assume that Nebraska is in the middle of the pack in the Big Ten.

I've heard it's around $2.5 million for basketball NIL. Not a concrete number, but it's in the ballpark. Rev share will certainly help, but not anywhere near as much as football.

Robin, do you feel solid in your claim that NU’s men’s basketball NIL is top half of the conference?
I believe it's in the middle of the pack. It's an impossible question because everything is just rumors.

It obviously depends on who decides to stick around, but I don't think it will be as bad as last year. Last year we had Brice, Gary and Hoiberg returning. This next year we will have Essegian, Berke, Hoiberg, Mast, Griffiths, Frager and Jacobsen. Now, I bet that we probably lose 2 from that group and we will have bigger shoes to fill with the void that Brice and Gary leave. But I don't see the complete roster overhaul that we saw last year. We will likely add 5 guys from the portal. I think that is going to be relatively normal going forward just based on kids leaving for various reasons and also kids not developing the way that you hoped.
Agreed last year was about filling out a roster this year will be about getting some big dogs with NIL to replace Brice and Gary. I think we’ve positioned ourselves nicely over the last couple years to land a couple big transfers. Having Mast back will be nice as well.

They do have Jasen Green though
They’ve had Scheierman, Traudt, Green, and Doztler of recent memory

We’ve had Griesel, Allick, Sammy (if he counts), and now Frager.

Not an ideal grouping for either but like others have said, we are beating a dead horse.
