Not even going to waste my time today. Shutting it off. This defense may work at home but you can’t expect to just give away the three point line in this conference and not get shredded.

The Cockeye loss stings for obvious reasons, but blowing leads in b1g road games is not great. So hard to win on the road

We've now faced 2 of the better defenses in the conference, both on the road, and we let Williams get bullied early on in both games. Purdue is doing exactly what Sparty did on him with a hard hedge, and we have no answer.

It'd be nice to have a game plan to overcome this early. Fred is way too smart so WTFbis going on!?

Loesner's 1-trick pony getting exposed again on the road.

The Cockeye loss hurts more bc you basically pencil to @ Purdue as a loss anyway.

You need to steal 2-3 road wins if you can to have a truly impressive season. That's why the Cockeye loss hurt so much. We maybe had 3 potential road wins and we blew 1 of the 3.

There are some road games that we don't even need to bother with as fans. This is one of them. @ MSU another.

This is high major division 1 basketball. You give up wide open looks, they are going to knock them down.
Correct. Same thing happened against TAMU in the tournament last year.

Loenser has been phenomenal but we really need to rethink the high level defensive strategy next year. Feels like forcing teams to volume shoot (mostly good looks) from three in an era where more teams shoot better than any era in the history of basketball may not be a good idea

Agreed. However, Purdue and Cockeye are genuinely good three-point shooting teams, whereas A&M was not. Their hot shooting from beyond the arc during the tournament was a clear outlier compared to their performance throughout the season.

2 of the next 3 are at home so we're on pace to be .500 in conference play at just under the 1/2 point of B1G games.

Ioa game will sting even more with every road blowout.

We just don’t have a threat shooting the 3 and a lot of the teams are forcing us to shoot deep while taking away the inside. The ability to generate is what’s killing us this year.

Essegian is a decent shooter but he’s streaky and doesn’t have near the range that Tominaga had. Easy to guard.

What bothers me about him is that in the handful of games that he’s gotten hot, he’s done a great job of moving without the ball. Them other games he just stands there. Puzzling.
