Honestly, as someone listening to the call live, I thought Kent’s call of the final play sucked. The shot goes up and Kent just begins with these guttural yells and I had no idea what happened. Did he make the shot? Was he fouled with no call and Kent was pissed? Are we going to overtime? It took several moments before Io figured out what had happened.

You need an indica. 😉

I'm happier than a pig in slop...just like you.

Garcia was playing early too, that wasn't mop-up duty. He played 3 minutes against craydone, in a blowout. And today, he didn’t even play 4 minutes in the 1H.

Essegian isn't closing todays game over Garcia, or even Berke. Jared replaced Berke after his 4th foul around the 6 or 7 minute mark and the rest is history. If you think Fred goes with Essegian, against Illinois, over Garcia then just say it so I can quit responding to you.

Absolutely ridiculous.

Go back and look at any of the other games this season prior to Essegian injury against legit opponents. Garcia wasn’t playing; wasn’t in Fred’s rotation.

He only started to get minutes in meaningful games after Essegian’s injury. That’s an indisputable fact backed up by every box score prior and my own eyes.

My only point is Essegian’s injury opened the door for Garcia and he took full advantage. Not sure why you feel the need to argue every point someone makes other than being the compete psychopath you are for 20 plus years on message boards.

Don’t fucking talk about Kent Pavelka like that.

The only thing weird about KP’s call of the game winning shot is the complete silence in the background from the crowd. Weird because the exciting finishes to wins like this always happen at home and the crowd is erupting too. To win on the road against a ranked opponent and put a dagger through the heart of their home crowd is a new sensation for most Husker fans

He was reacting with 70 plus years of being a Husker fan first over being an announcer.

I read through that entire thread and a lot of them thought they officials cheated them.

About half gave us respect though, but they see themselves as disappointed for sweet 16 finish and some of them don't even feel like they'll get that far.
Reading through some Illinois fan reactions, they sound like Husker football fans lol

How any rational person could think the officials cheated Illinois is laughable

Got it means he made it. The orgasm after got it means it was a basically a buzzer beater.

I rarely believe that officials actually try to swing the game intentionally. They either get worked enough by the coach enough that they subconsciously make calls for (or against said coach if they think he’s an asshole ala Bo Pelini) OR IMO the biggest reason is that the officials just plain suck and can’t make CONSISTENT calls. One would have thought we would have gotten a better graded ref crew from the conference means how it was a ranked matchup yesterday. I understand the highest graded crew probably was pushed to Maryland Michigan but still we should have had better.

You can tell most of our fanbase has never watched any conference games that Nebraska was not playing in. Refs are just bad, its not us.

This is my take as well. I was listening on the radio because my kids were at a basketball tournament and I was just sitting there so frustrated having no idea what actually happened.
