Nebrasketball Coaching Hot Board

Right, a majority of them didn't end up at major schools out of high school. People would've freaked the hell out if we were recruiting most of these guys out of high school.
If Cale Jacobsen can be part of the team even it’s as a walk on I don’t think many would be too upset about recruiting instate kids with D1 offers.

Families of both guys will openly tell you to this very day that if Miles is the head coach, Chucky and Hunter are both Huskers.
Can you elaborate on why Fred fucked it up?

I guess I don't personally see the allure of playing for Miles at that point either so jw

The key to Miles being in a good spot with the in-state kids was Michael Lewis, who is now the head coach at Ball State.

Fred passed off all recruiting to Abdelmassih for the first 3 years. Trusted him to have carpe blanche over roster construction. That man was never at practice. He didn’t do jack shit during games. His job was to be a bag man and get guys to Lincoln. Abdelmassih rescinded the offers that Chucky and Hunter had from Nebraska, and even at one point went on The Ticket in Lincoln and said something to the extent of “kids from here aren’t good enough. We have bigger goals.”

Abdelmassih then tried to get back in with both of them when it was beyond too late. To the point where he went to Bellevue East, not Bellevue West and asked if he could talk to Chucky Hepburn.

Ah that makes sense. Yea that fat slob really fucked things up for us for quite a while

Been an absolutely dog shit last month or so for me personally, so haven’t been here in a bit.

Hello hello.
Interesting that your downturn in personal life JUUUUST so happens to coincide with Nebrasketball's demise this season.

Seriously though - hope everything turns around for you brother. Let us know if we can help at all.

Shut. The. Fuck. Up.

This canNOT be real...that may be the single worst gaffe in recruiting history, no?

Nebrasketball's demise coincided with myself going through a breakup, job issues, and having to buy a new car. It's been a long ass month.

This gave me a good laugh this morning. I must be broken because I find that hilarious and depressing at the same time.

Oh, it's real.
I ran the story by my CBB connection - their response was "does not surprise me ONE BIT" and cited that these shady recruiters that, because everyone is getting paid, have to go from being the "money talks" guy to being like everyone else and learn family names, learn hobbies, know where their school is...they never had to do that before and are actually kinda shitty recruiters haha.

Abdelmassih is now the GM for St. John's Basketball, his alma mater.

Him and Rick Pitino must be a scumbag match made in heaven.
