If you have to score a TD, why not try to do it in regulation when you have the time, timeouts and momentum to do so? And, unlike overtime, Wisconsin wouldn’t get a chance to equal with a possession of their own.
I mean, best case scenario in overtime is we get the ball exactly where we had it in the final minute of regulation (a few yards farther away, actually) but in OT, Wisconsin gets a possession, where if we score a TD in regulation, it’s over! Advantage regulation TD, in my eyes.
