At the end of October you couldn't have drawn up a better path for Nebraska

You're 5-3 with three straight conference wins and tied for first in the west. Left on the schedule is a struggling Maryland team, the worst MSU and Wisconsin teams in a decade, and a one-dimensional Cockeye team you get at home.

Tough pill to swallow. Really hope we beat Cockeye on Friday.

Wisconsin is a bigger better team than us. Wisconsin underachieved all yr & finally woke up 2nd qtr. Wisconsin played probably as well as they could & their OC is an idiot. He finally got wise late & used Allen to wear us out. We were playing on heart alone defensively bc we were out gunned physically
Which is why playing for OT was so frustrating
We had a great final drive going. We didn’t have to do anything fancy but we needed time to finish it off. For some reason we acted like the FG would win it & let the clock tick out.
Then once in OT the offense had no plan & couldn’t even get in a play timely
the coaching staff choked this away
The players actually balled out tonight
We got Wisconsin’s best shot & we gave them ours
Both staffs coached like retards

The only thing we have going for us is Deacan Hill can't move. Wisconsin killed us countless times on QB runs it was pretty embarrassing to watch tackles were pretty piss poor tonight too.

We have similar talent level to Wisconsin. We should have beat them last year too.

That wasn't the concern. The concern was turning it over when you already had a FG basically in the bag.

If Rhule went YOLO going for the TD and Chubba threw an INT you all would be calling for Rhule's head for being an idiot and not taking the easy 3.

You guys can't have it both ways.
Sure. But we were in the red zone with almost a minute left and three timeouts. We could have run the ball up the gut a few times, which we were having decent success with. Being aggressive there didn’t necessarily involve being super risky.

I think the .5 is pretty generous.
I've watched Cockeye play this year. Our defense will eat them alive. Granted their defense will return the favor and if it weren't for Purdy I'd agree with .5%. As it is I think we have a better chance that most think. Not going to predict a win because stepping on our own dicks is a near certainty but Cockeye is beatable.

Defense giving up 3rd and longs to Mord all night like he was Melvin Gordon did us in
The defense is skating tonight on TPB and I'm not sure why. White dialed up the PERFECT calls about 95% of the time.

We probably had 10 plays where everything was called perfectly AND we had a defender right in Mordecai's face and all 10 times the defender whiffed on the tackle.

If we even go 4/10 on those plays we probably win the game. White dialed those up perfectly but our defender in that situation couldn't execute.

Because we turned the ball over 487 times this year.
But at some point we have to get in the end zone. A FG couldn’t win the game. We could also turn the ball over in overtime and lose.

If you have to score a TD, why not try to do it in regulation when you have the time, timeouts and momentum to do so? And, unlike overtime, Wisconsin wouldn’t get a chance to equal with a possession of their own.

I mean, best case scenario in overtime is we get the ball exactly where we had it in the final minute of regulation (a few yards farther away, actually) but in OT, Wisconsin gets a possession, where if we score a TD in regulation, it’s over! Advantage regulation TD, in my eyes.
