Macgillicuddyakz played 11 games this last year as a soph. Seems like he was progressing reasonably well as a rotational guy, although you're gonna lose some of those types every year.
He’s likely got a guaranteed starting spot at a lower level program and he didn’t want to spend another year as a backup.

Its very possible.

My concern is his ‘rebuild’ impacts 2026 negatively and we’re looking at another year added to the overall rebuild, or worse.
The hope is he brings in transfers from Tech and the other OL coach from So Carolina who are dudes vs massive projects with low success of panning out as even depth pieces.

He’s oline now right?
At a certain point you’ve tried him out at a few spots and none have obviously worked
Most quality OLine starters are juniors and seniors. We cant just keep waiting for everyone else to develope olinemen then buy them with 1 year left. Now that we have hired a guy capable of developing an oline we need to let him do it.

Did he rotate on the OL this year? I don't recall him ever playing.
Did his snaps all come on the field goal/PAT team or something?

I think he was a DL commit originally, and the coaches decided he was better suited to OL?

Agree on the HS film, but it almost always looks great when it’s kids from rural Nebraska, Kansas, or the Dakota’s. They’ve got D1 bodies and they’re beating the dog out of kids who’ll be working at Walmart the next fall.
I just looked and Macjajacheckey is a rSo this season so he’s now had three full seasons of development. That’s enough time to let him try to make it and clearly they’ve seen it’s not happening and time to move on.

I don’t see a minute of practice and the kid hasn’t played much at all, so I can’t argue their position.
