Any time Aurora loses is a good day in my book. Also happened to be against my nephew's HS team, which made it even better. He quit before the season but we've been watching that group of seniors since they were like 12 so it was really cool to see them get a chip.

Dylan Mostek rushed for 218 yards in the Class B state championship game, leading Bennington to a 42-14 win over Aurora. With the 218 yards, Mostek ended the 2021 season with 3,090 yards, breaking the all-time 11-man single-season rushing record. The old record was 3,008 yards set by Calvin Strong of Omaha North in 2013.

Mostek's mark also shatters the Class B record of 2,740 yards set by Brendan Holbein of Cozad in 1991.

The all-time, all-class single-season rushing record in Nebraska belongs to Austin Stuhr of Heartland who rushed for 3,185 yards in 2016 (8-man).

Class A - defensive donneybrook. Congrats to the Dragons of Gretna.
