But as of NOW, I think vast majority would accept it if Turd said we need to move on. Half the grandmas in our fanbase think Frost is a scumbag who cheated on his wife bc they saw a rumor on Facebook. There's no way Frost has a 40% approval rating right now.

Turd as the AD is such a big reason why the fan loyalty to Frost waned so quickly. The base still has a big contingency intent on having a link to the past. Thankfully, Turd happens to be that, but it’s more of a bonus than anything else (hopefully!). So I think now that you’ve got a guy that has come in, is accomplished, and who people trust to finally get this right.

I don’t know how old most are on this board, but Turd was revered during his time. He was one of the first defensive guys that I really understood was a badass. I was 12 years old his senior season. I mean this dude won the Butkus Award, was All American and manhandled FSU with a fucking cast on his arm - sacked Charlie Ward 3 times after all FSU QBs combined had only been sacked 5 times all season. Guy was an animal. Went 5th overall!! Younger generations would have known more about Turd had we won that game. If you haven’t watched that game against FSU in ‘93, go back and watch it.

My point in all of this is that I don’t think the current mood shift has as much to do with Frost anymore as it does with Turd. People trust him. And I think a lot of people - either conscious- or unconsciously - are taking that extra leash away from Frost and handing it over to Turd. That’s what we’re actually seeing IMO.

I think Tone is batshit crazy but I also find this path plausible. It’s been on my mind for a little bit now that it was an avenue that made sense. I could even see the statement pinning some fabricated hope to the future; that maybe it can work out again with a better result. Awe shucks and all. It would get a mixed response from the fans and media - and that would be a win, ultimately.

Oh agree there. I think it’ll be something more generic that encompasses his dad’s passing compounded with last year of pandemic, etc and whatever else paints the narrative. All grounded in some kernel of truth.
