As a Dodgers fan who watches a lot of games, there are probably only a handful of people to whom I’ve spent more time listening in my life.

He and Chick Hearn were the top of the top and I feel so fortunate to have had them both here in L.A.

The thing about Vin besides his obvious gift of making you feel like you were at the game, was that he truly was the way he portrayed himself. Decent is an inadequate word but he was the ultimate decent man. In 60+ years of broadcasting and countless days on the road and at Dodger Stadium there are no bad stories about him. Not one. Every single player, coach, sportswriter has nothing but nice things to say about him.

RIP Vin and thanks for sharing yourself with us over the years.
