MLPFC Shit Posting

I'm the only tee-totaler in the bunch. Others have reduced their intake over the years, but still imbibe. And there are a couple of hard core ones that still like their shots of Jager when we gather. I never liked that stuff WHEN I drank-for-effect - yuck.
Jager tastes worse than the worst-tasting medicine I ever took for a chest cold when I was 8 yrs old. Nasty.....

Another great post much like @LoudHogRider. A great deal is being revealed tonight and a lot of things are making sense why our relationship with Dean was going to be problematic from the get go. Self important and pompous humorless bores are just too rich and inviting a target for some of us to ignore. It was destined to be a relationship fraught with turmoil and drama. In a marriage you'd call it irreconcilable differences.
Very well said. And very accurate. So many RSS moments that I know I should just walk away but then don’t. And Dean himself has even been my target. (Re: 3-2-1 predictions)

Picked up a small "dual fuel" generator today. I justified the spend under the auspices of having something that would run the refrigerator, some fans & lights in the event we had an extended power outage.

Announcer voice: your neighborhood has buried power and you've never had a power outage in the 6.5 years you've lived there

Fine. I bought it to do some adventure camping. Sitting around for the last year during this pandemic has me pining for some pine trees in the mountains. I've got my "Senior Lifetime National Park Pass" in the glove box, and I'm slowly accumulating assets in support of taking off for some time in the great outdoors. For some reason, Mrs. LHR doesn't want to let me drop $50K on a new Airstream Basecamp 20X travel trailer (coward), so I'm probably just going to put a Napier Backroadz truck tent & custom air mattress in the truck, add a second large tent (perhaps a screen type tent) for setting up the cook tables, sitting chairs, etc. I've got a cook stove, and other camping basics, but every time I visit an outdoors store or online retailer, I'm overwhelmed with the gadgetry that's popped up to serve this community.

For you campers ITT, what are your "must have" camping gear items?

You don’t need much honestly.
The only thing I couldn’t live without my is my 12” Dutch oven. (I could, but it sure makes taters and sausage easy.)
Everything else is just fluff. All of it.

A handy campfire cooking device, for sure. From waaaaay back in my Boy Scout days, our Scoutmaster made a baked apple dish in his 12" Dutch Oven that was worth spending a weekend in a tent for. I will definitely add one to the shopping cart. Great suggestion.

there is a bar down at the ozarks called the glory hole. we found it on accident, it is one of the greatest sketchiest dive bars ive ever been to and i cant wait to go back.
I'm a big fan of truth in advertising and as an example there are two bars in the Castro District of San Francisco, one of the country's oldest gay neighborhoods. The first is named The Manhole and the other is a leather bar called Rawhide. Don't say you weren't warned.

Which one did you like best?
That's actually a fair question but I'm afraid you'll be disappointed in the answer because it's rather innocent. I was at an AIDS conference when I was an official for the L.A. County Health Dept. and we were invited by a local from the SF Health Dept. AIDS Program to visit his old stomping grounds. It was kind of fun because it was so different but served primarily to reinforce my heterosexuality.

Some of the old timer MLPFC probably recall me mentioning this story but it's worth sharing again. Since I brought up the subject of AIDS and to disabuse y'all of the notion that my job was all gay bars and bathouses, I was the assistant director of the L.A. County AIDS Program Office in charge of HIV Testing and Professional Education from 1988-1992. One of the more memorable projects was when Porn Valley reached out to me for some education and to assist them in setting up an HIV testing program for the performers. The two guys I worked with were Tom Byron and Joey Silvera who were transitioning from acting to producer/director and they were both easy to work with and fun to hang out with. I met some of the female performers at some educational meetings and to be brutally honest, a lot of them were pretty plain without make-up. There were two exceptions who were legit gorgeous and that was Barbara Dare and Tracey Adams. Everyone was very nice to me and appreciative. I was quite impressed at their professionalism and it was very clear they viewed porn as a business.

Thought I'd surprise the Mrs. with my new "truck tent" camping setup yesterday. You know, since it's mostly set to mostly arrive tomorrow. "I"ll take things that won't go well for $500, Alex."

Apparently, the idea of camping in a tent, cooking on a camp stove, doing meal prep & dishes on a portable camp kitchen, along with the indignity in pooping into a chemical porta-potty are too much to ask at this point in our lives. To be fair, I may have mis-read the tea leaves on this one. Or ... I had something else in mind.

I've already submitted the return to Amazon and as the truck tent and air mattress offload, they're going straight from the back of the UPS truck into the bed of my truck and we're headed to Koll's to return them to Amazon (yes, Koll's is a designated Amazon return center here in Swimtown - incredible). I've already sparked up the dual-fuel generator, which I justified as for emergency home use, so I'm keeping that sumbitch.

Also, I'm buying a Grand Design travel trailer tomorrow. 😎

“flaming heterosexuality” I’m guessing...... 😎

Thoughts & Prayers, amigo. I’m thinking we haven’t heard the final chapter in this story. 😎

Having been a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Explorer and that whole jungle thing with the Army, my idea of camping now is a 5 star hotel. But then again we didn't have all the cool stuff that you purchased so there's that. The trailer does sound really nice. Nah, you can catch me at the hotel and you can use the shower if you like 🦟🕷️🐍🪰🐜
