Mickey Joseph

Got to the office this morning and two guys told me that they are hearing that Mickey is staying put at LSU. Anyone else hearing the same thing?

The thing that has people speculating is that he’s not been officially announced yet and he was out recruiting for LSU last night. That’s about all we have now.

I think we might have to fend off a conversation from Brian Kelly here… But it’s not like Frost just started talking to Mickey on Monday. This deal has been in the works for about a month on Nebraska’s side and it sounds like Mickey gave us his word on it about two weeks ago.

I have only heard that from you amigo. But I don't have any sources except TPB
I told these guys that I hadn't heard anything about it. I will say, it's not like these guys have a bunch of sources. One of the guys is the biggest broken Husker fans I've seen and spins everything as negatively as possible. And the other said he read Joseph was staying at LSU. He can't remember where he read it though lol.

Those are some solid sources. Lol

Probably stems from the twitter picture of him out recruiting for LSU this week. But he's gonna do that until he's not working for them. Just the nature of the game. FWIW I have no idea if he's staying or going. I think the guys on here that have some connections are trying to figure that out as well.

I think an ideal situation for someone like Korn is if he's brought on staff, but doesn't jump straight to OC. Say we land someone like Herman or Mullen - you know they'll be looking for a head coaching gig somewhere soon. So make them OC, and give Korn a title like QB coach and passing game coordinator or something. Then we've got a P5-experienced hand guiding the ship for a while, while Korn gets more experience coaching at a higher level before he becomes OC.

That OL room should sue Greg Austin for malpractice. I’m sorry, but a kid like Benhart is too talented and strong to look like that big of a moron on the field. Same goes for Corcoran. That’s the room that I honestly think the next guy is gonna walk in and say “What the fuck do you mean the last guy couldn’t get these guys ready to play?”

That room is way too talented to be as historically bad as they were.
This is the most accurate take I've read in a long long time.

Spot on. Do not tell me we don't have the talent to plug and play. We have had mismanaged players who haven't been put in position to succeed.

I don't know who he is but let em know!
NebFan is one of the all time characters from RSS. Considered himself a true insider but was really just a moron. Even got some warnings from Callahan and Co about not promoting himself on their message board.

That's not what is at play here. Guys like Herman and Mullen are not even on the map.

The impression I get of Austin is that he was good at the big picture stuff, but had no idea how to coach the details...

I'm assuming this was before Frost?

I believe it was the Pelini era. Although, I kind remember it being with the Calabraska movement too. But I could be mixing it up with that dude that stalked the Gebbia family...

It was an interesting time for sure...

Mickey backing out or stalling as he sees Brian Kelly as a possible lifeline to stay at LSU could be what is happening here.....

...or....

Nebraska is the one stalling on the announcement as they want the OC to be announced first so as to give the impression that the OC gave their blessing or were in on the decision for the rest of the spots? Maybe they just want to announce them all together (seems unlikely)

I believe people say Chaz in SoCal is the Cali/Gebbia family stalker....that sound close?

Oh yeah...he was around during the Pelini days. I can't remember if he got banned before Riley or not.
Yep, before my time. Honestly didn't know HOL existed until around the time Frost got hired. I think literally a few days before it was announced. Got a TT sent to me by a co-worker at the time confirming it by Real Dean.
