Not poly, not a takeAnybody familiar with this player? Doesn't seem like Husker Fans are doing their usual push job to keep all local kids local with him.
Seems like the local talent has really improved over the past 5ish years. Especially the depth. The state has always pumped out 4-7 D1 players a year, but now we seem to have 7 guys going to P5 and another 5 guys going to G5 schools. Realistically, there will be guys going to other quality schools almost every year now, and that's gotta be okay.Anybody familiar with this player? Yep, the sweet spot is getting the top players in state, a handful of them will go elsewhere but you want to avoid the Christian Jones' of the world going to another P5 school.Seems like the local talent has really improved over the past 5ish years. I can see Rhule building a bit of a feeder system with the Nebraska kids. Invite them to camps and for visits. Build a relationship. Communicate you have others higher on the board but tell them to go to that lower program like Colorado St, North Dakota St, lowa, Northern Illinois... to get some quality playing time and develop. If they do well there they might be able to portal back to Nebraska. I dont disagree at all, I believe he is here for the long haul if we allow him to be. If you saw the time and effort he puts into even the 3rd graders at his camp its pretty impressive. The ENTIRE coaching staff is there with the kids and very interactive even at that age. He took a picture with every single kid, asked them their name and where they are from etc.I can see Rhule building a bit of a feeder system with the Nebraska kids. Rhule did what you're talking about with my little cousin's boyfriend last year. He had a walk-on offer from Mickey and a scholarship offer from South Dakota State. When Rhule came in they took the time to sit down with him and let him know that at that time the smart move would be to go to SDS and then they would see how things developed for a return to Lincoln in the future.I can see Rhule building a bit of a feeder system with the Nebraska kids.
