Story to run early in the morning on the prospect from Omaha Central.
First place in Class A the shot put in Class with a PR, second in discus, he also got his first DI offer today from Air Force. Great kid who was just so happy about the last couple days. His dad also coaches him in throws, so it was quite the shared experience.
He will camp at Nebraska on June 8. He's been hearing a lot from Husker coaches, probably the most from E.J. Barthel, who has taken on more of a role with the in-state recruiting. But he also got texts from Tony White and others about his state track performance.
He will play wherever, he said, but probably sees himself most on the D-line. He came up to a lot of spring practices so he loves what they're doing. He also had a great story about what he saw at Norris middle school the day after Matt Rhule's camp that I'll post separately here. It'll give you a glimpse of how Rhule and staff seem to be impacting things in-state, and in Omaha in particular in this case.

This is about Ike Ackerman. I know that I've been pumping him up the past few weeks - my cousin is his mom. I'm really hoping for an NIL scholarship for him. But maybe he can play himself into a traditional offer. He is the kind of kid/athlete that Rhule just loves.

It honestly sounds like the skers are courting him. But maybe I’m reading it wrong
