I don't know man.....I'm just very uneasy about this guy as our OC.

Two good games don't just magically erase all the other poor offensive showings. PJ Walker was good with him, but he had his best season under Glenn Thomas. Glenn Thomas was available to be hired & tbh if Rhule was going to grab an OC from his coaching tree, I would have much preferred Thomas over Satterfield. If the focus was on a smashmouth running game in conjunction with a vertical passing attack, there were plenty of other good OCs available to be hired as well.

I'm praying for the best for our boys but I'm a little antsy about this season.

I thought we were taking about Satterfield (?).

And the defense is going to be decent actually.
Defense will be decent and outside of Michigan, I don't see any offenses that are overly concerning.

Unless we fall into a Pelini-esque "we didn't get lined up correctly" phase, they should hold their own for the most part.

I am hopeful (once again) on both sides of the ball for players and coaches.

Hell, I am even hopeful for the STs.

Even if you're right and let's say he's a C+ level OC....that's still not even in the top 10 of our biggest problems this year.

WRs are bad.

I have some doubts about Satterfield, but McGuire is my more immediate concern. He's shown some good things in recruiting and such, but is he any good at the actual coaching part? I mean in terms of talent that was recruited, I don't think our WRs are that bad, but it sure seems like they're not performing like they should be at the moment.

I would rather have the good recruiter at the wr coach myself.

I can tell you Alex loves him. Thinks he's a great coach and agrees that he's going to be a HC in the not so distant future.

Most coaches kids are pretty smart. I’m not worried there. The worry would be going from Mickey to a 22 year old coach with the respect factor. Personally I think it will be fine. I’m most worried about the OL. Until it gets fixed we will be dog shit. I don’t care who is calling the plays.

From the eyes of a white walkon he's doing a really good job of handling the room. Not sure how that perspective changes with a Coleman or Washington.

Yea it will be interesting to see how he handles the big egos. Atleast he is recruiting all burners it seems like. Speed kills.

Or you insinuating this to be the case, or has ot been alleged (or said) by some people?

Serious question.
Im just speculating since this is Beamers first HC gig and was never really a coordinator anywhere and was a disciple under Lincoln Riley. Maybe Beamer had ideas on how the offense should run and there was friction between the two on how the offense should run. If the offense looks similar and struggling compared to last years, then you know it was Beamer controlling things and not so much Satt.

Our QB is unproven.
Starting RB is unproven (and been injured for 2 yrs)
WRs are bad.
TEs - one guy still not 100%, other won't play (waiver).
OL probably will rank 11-14 in the B1G.

I just LMAO at all of the "Satterfield might be the #1 problem" posts that are showing up. Even if the guy sucks, it still won't be the reason our offense sucks.
Our QB is a 3-year P5 starter - how is that unproven lol?

Georgia Tech sucked and he was pretty meh with them so unproven is being generous. I think the idea is he's better than he was at Ga Tech.

Yeah fair points. He's been around a while, so you wouldn't say he's 'unproven.' However we didn't bring him here for what he's proven. What he's proven to be so far is pretty mediocre.

So he's not yet proved that he is what Rhule apparently thinks he can be. So, however you want to state that.

We have no actual evidence yet that he can play consistently at the level he needs to be successful in the B1G. That doesn't mean he can't be. Heck, you could have said the exact same thing about Joe Burrow when he was leaving OSU.

Could have said that about Joe Burrow after his first year at LSU.
