Yes! Those old park toys at Richmond-Gordman’s. Great place to play while the family shopped.
And I remember saving up $20 (big money back then!) to buy a Star Wars X-Wing fighter at Hinky Dinky. I know it was a grocery store, but they must have had a toy isle. Either that or my memory is faulty!
Crawdaddy’s in the Haymarket had $0.25 tacos on Sundays and fountain drinks for $1.00 my freshman year. Could get 8 tacos and a drink for $3.21. The best.
Then for some reason they went out of business 🤷🏻♂️☹️
Yes! George’s Red Pepper Grill, or something. A block east of Claremont Apartments, where I spent my third and fourth years of college. Later it moved to the Haymarket almost under the viaduct. That was long before the Haymarket was what it is now. Pretty out of the way.I remember George’s 25 cent tacos Sunday mornings around 10th and Charleston. Best hangover cure
Does anyone remember the sports apparel store that was either just inside or next to Richmond Gordman's at Gateway? Can't remember the name, but I somehow talked my dad into buying me an Allen Iverson Georgetown jersey.
How about this place? I was obviously too young to drink, but I think it got a lot of folks swinging in the 80's with their cheap margaritas...

Wasn't there also a bar by East Park called Chesterfields or something like that, that was pretty popular in the 80's?
Speaking of Havelock, I recently had pizza at The Isles and it is as good as ever. Good to hear places like The Tam O’Shanter and Lazzari’s are still going strong. The ole penny candy store in the havelock will always be goated

I must be thinking of Pro Image.Richmond Gordman's was about 48th and Vine. Lawlor's was in Gateway for a while. They sold sporting equipment. Pro Image was in Gateway and where I got my first customized baseball jersey.
I must be thinking of Pro Image.
What's the name of the department store that used to be in the old Steve and Barry's. Before Steve and Barry's that is?
I got Montgomery Wards and Richmond Gordmans confused. Thanks for setting me straight.I think that may have been where Montgomery Wards used to be.

I spent many hours and quarters at that arcade. That place was awesome. What was the name of the arcade in East Park? Was it Sluggo's? Windows were all blacked out so the creepy 30 year old guy could creep on the teenage girls in peace.
