Lincoln Memories

Can someone help me with this one. I didn’t grow up in Lincoln so the details are lost to time, but I played in a baseball tournament growing up (90s) and we went to I think a diner for lunch. I went to the bathroom and there was a picture of a topless woman on the wall. It was a very formative moment for my 10-11 year old self. Might’ve been Kings? Anyone remember this? I’ve always wondered what the hell restaurant that was.

Not the exact photo, but i remember going to Gordman's and playing on these for hours it felt like.

I remembering splitting my head open at Hinky Dinky when I was four years old. I went the opposite way through one of the entrance/exit doors while someone else was coming out. One of the earliest memories that I can remember in my life.

Yes! Those old park toys at Richmond-Gordman’s. Great place to play while the family shopped.

And I remember saving up $20 (big money back then!) to buy a Star Wars X-Wing fighter at Hinky Dinky. I know it was a grocery store, but they must have had a toy isle. Either that or my memory is faulty!

Crawdaddy’s in the Haymarket had $0.25 tacos on Sundays and fountain drinks for $1.00 my freshman year. Could get 8 tacos and a drink for $3.21. The best.

Then for some reason they went out of business 🤷🏻‍♂️☹️
I remember George’s 25 cent tacos Sunday mornings around 10th and Charleston. Best hangover cure

Has lees chicken closed down yet?
It’s probably been 5-10 years since I’ve had it but it seemed like it changed and wasn’t good last time I went.

Lee’s has had a rough go. First, it was hit by a tornado, then an out of control car almost destroyed it, then thieves stole the giant chicken.

My freshman year college roommate broke the record at Crawfaddy’s (previously George’s) by eating 41 tacos.
