Lets check on BigCL24 today..

Everyone I have talked to that would know said the same, it was definitely Klassy at one point and something fell through

Maybe too far apart on $ and just couldn't meet in the middle.

I think it was telling when there wasn’t an announcement last week. At that point you kind of had to figure it wasn’t going to be Klassy.

His status with the AD is going to be telling the next few weeks/months.

I noticed Sipple from the get go was very adamant the AD was going to be announced before 7/15, then sure as shit the announcement comes on 7/14. The dude is kind of a joker but Sips sources always seem to be spot on

In my opinion, you could tell that the Lincoln press would be given preferential treatment from Day 1 when Frost got here. I don’t think the AD has really liked the Omaha press dating back to maybe 2010.

He was at first but didn't he backtrack? I remember early on he said probably before 7/8, for sure by 7/15, and then in early July he started changing his tune and saying "by the end of the month".

But maybe he reverted back

I wonder what went wrong with Klassy. @Driveway Jordan was pretty confident thats what it was going to be as well.

I was told that by someone involved in the search. Lars Anderson was 100% sure it was Ed Stewart. What that tells me is there was a deliberate smokescreen effort made…with people giving out Misinformation.

Maybe trying to find the leakers?

Wait a second.....I remember once you said you knew people on BOR, who was involved in the search committee. If you were told that by someone involved in the search, did Carter just unintentionally out your source? Stark was one of them and I can't remember the other BOR on the committee......do you then throw hands with Carter over that garbage?

A family member of mine who has good connections, but isn't involved with any thing, told me after the announcement that Walter Scott and Howard Hawks were pushing very hard for Alberts.

I'm sure that helped sway whatever decision they were trying to make.

For whatever that is worth

I think what Carter said in the Q&A at the end of the press conference was pretty insightful: “no one keeps a secret around here” and “it’s hard to reach a consensus on anything.” With those 2 points in mind, I’m sure there were numerous people involved in the search, both on the committee and in other capacities, who had their own interpretation of how things were going and weren’t afraid to share it.

This would align with one of @Husker Priapism ’s earlier posts.
