I think it was telling when there wasn’t an announcement last week. At that point you kind of had to figure it wasn’t going to be Klassy.

His status with the AD is going to be telling the next few weeks/months.

In my opinion, you could tell that the Lincoln press would be given preferential treatment from Day 1 when Frost got here. I don’t think the AD has really liked the Omaha press dating back to maybe 2010.

He was at first but didn't he backtrack? I remember early on he said probably before 7/8, for sure by 7/15, and then in early July he started changing his tune and saying "by the end of the month".

But maybe he reverted back

Ted Carter's quote about "we only interviewed 1 candidate and followed state law" was also interesting. No names will ever be released as to who was vetted (or offered) if they weren't formally interviewed. Pollard, Stewart, Klassy...who knows?

I bet Klassy was one of the final 8 candidates, but Turd was the better candidate to hire. Sounds like Klassy will be part of the AD team yet, which I think is a good thing. We will see if he sticks around long though.

A family member of mine who has good connections, but isn't involved with any thing, told me after the announcement that Walter Scott and Howard Hawks were pushing very hard for Alberts.

I'm sure that helped sway whatever decision they were trying to make.

I think what Carter said in the Q&A at the end of the press conference was pretty insightful: “no one keeps a secret around here” and “it’s hard to reach a consensus on anything.” With those 2 points in mind, I’m sure there were numerous people involved in the search, both on the committee and in other capacities, who had their own interpretation of how things were going and weren’t afraid to share it.
