But did Ole Miss tell Kiffin he couldn't finish the season with them or did Kiffin just decide it was time to move on?

I don't understand either argument.

Kiffin wanted to coach it out, which no admin in the nation would’ve let him do. Then he tried to hold them hostage by telling his offensive staff that they have a job at LSU if they leave rn but not if they play it out. Miss promoted the the dc to head coach, not interim and they kept a lot of the staff in place. Seems like ole Miss did about as good as they could.
