Some all-time greats ran 4.7 or so. Jerry Rice, Larry Fitzgerald, Steve Largent. Burners are great, but there's a lot of production that can be achieved with average athleticism & elite technical skills.
Feel like those times are bullshit tbh
 
Fitzgerald ran a 4.48 at the combine though
You made me look, and there's a funky rabbit hole there. It was 20 years ago (holy crap), and according to one reports (draft reporting was a few guys with notebooks), he didn't work out at the combine. NFL Draft Scout (at the time the place everyone went for numbers - that was still the era of AOL, Friendster, & Geocities) had him at 4.63, but 5 years later someone emailed & asked them, and they said maybe it was a web site error. Then at his pro day inside on turf, he ran a 4.48 hand-timed.

Ha. Thanks for looking this up. I just took the first website that gave a combine time as gospel because I m a sheeple
