Interesting, and good for us, stuff on Brix from the Kansas State On.3 site, who has viewed Brix as a KSU lock for a while.

Kansas State and Brix

The highest-ranked prospect that Kansas State is chasing is offensive lineman Grant Brix. He’s a four-star that is ranked in the top 100. For all intents and purposes, he is the crown jewel much like Avery Johnson was a year ago for the Wildcats.

Because K-State was so early to the party on him and recruited him aggressively from start to finish, they are in the hunt despite some heavy hitting schools that have sought his services. His desire to remain close to home has also been in favor of Kansas State.

We’re approaching decision time for the Cockeye native. The latest chatter suggests that Alabama won’t receive heavy consideration because of proximity to home. Although he enjoyed his time in Tuscaloosa, it may just be too far.

Due to him already eliminating Notre Dame, likely for the same reason, the contenders for Brix are K-State, Nebraska and Oklahoma. Not long ago, I felt that it was a head-to-head battle between the Wildcats and Sooners.

That may not be the case. Recent rumblings in the last 24 hours have indicated Nebraska could be the top suitor, along with Kansas State. Remember, the Huskers have distance on their side as well and his parents work in the Omaha area.

At the end of the day, the Huskers don’t have the same relationships built with him. Those types of clues lead me to lean towards Conor Riley and the Wildcats edging out Nebraska for his services at the moment.

Confidence remains

No new information is contained in the second item of the recruiting scoop this week. I just wanted to use the space in the article to insist that everything is pointing towards K-State as the destination for offensive line target Kaedin Massey.

At this point, it would be a surprise if he picked anyone besides the Wildcats. Even those on the Sooner side of things believe he will play his college football in Manhattan.

Whatever will you guys do with *checks notes* more 5 stars in a year than Nebraska has signed in the recruiting service era of college football
You can never have enough when going against power house like the Ball State Cardinals. We'll be lucky to have 11 5*s healthy by the time we have to face the UAB Blazers. That just won't do.

As a fan of a team that would have almost certainly split those high caliber matchups the last decade, I can sympathize

Pretty interesting stuff here considering just this morning Schaefer and the 247 KSU writer said Massey may be leaning more towards Nebraska (albeit ever so slightly) and 247 KSU seems to think Brix is mainly a pure KSU vs. OU battle. It looks like no one truly has a good idea on what the Kansas linemen are thinking.

Quinn Clark commitment: What does it mean for Nebraska

2024 Nebraska WR commit Quinn Clark.

Nebraska goes into Montana for commitment No. 20 to land Bozeman (Mont.) Gallatin wide receiver Quinn Clark. On Tuesday, the 6-foot-4 1/2, 190-pound Clark officially announced his commitment to the Huskers.

Here are some quick takes on the commitment of Clark and what it means for Nebraska.

The commitment of Clark now gives the Huskers three wide receivers in the class of 2024.

1. Nebraska has added a fifth legacy to the class of 2024. Quinn Clark is the son of former Nebraska I-Back Ken Clark. The other legacies in the class are Mario Buford from DeSoto (Texas) (brother Marques Buford plays for Nebraska), Ian Flynt from Katy (Texas) Taylor (father Darren threw for Nebraska track and sister Amelia currently throws for Nebraska), Keelan Smith from Liberty (Mo.) North (father Neil played football for Nebraska and in the NFL), andKamdyn Koch (father Sam played football for Nebraska and in the NFL).

2. Clark has some great length, and the Huskers need that at the wide receiver position. Just two wide receivers are listed on the Nebraska roster at 6-foot-4 (walk-on Taveon Thompson and true freshman Malachi Coleman).

3. This is not all about length. Clark is a playmaker when he has the ball in his hands. As a junior, Clark had 58 receptions for 918 yards, averaging 15.8 yards per catch and 83.5 yards per game with 15 touchdowns.

4. Clark is another of Nebraska’s summer camp evaluations/offers. The 6-foot-4 1/2 and 190-pound Clark was in Nebraska on June 12th for camp. After his first one-on-one rep, head coach Matt Rhule offered the Husker legacy right on the field.

5. Clark is the first high school recruit from Montana since Tom Osborne reached into Kalispell (Mont.) Flathead and recruited Mark Gilman. Worth mentioning, Brian Buschini is from Helena (Mont.) Capital and transferred to Nebraska from Montana.

6. The original number of projected wide receiver commitments for Nebraska was always three going back to the start of the evaluation period in April. Clark will be the third player listed to play the wide receiver position, according to On3, along with Dae’Vonn Hall and Isaiah McMorris from Bellevue (Neb.) West.

7. It’s been quite a June for Rhule and his staff. Clark is now the 13th commit NU has landed since June 7. Of NU’s 20 commits in the class of 2024, 10 different states are now represented.

Does this mean Barney wouldn’t be a take if he wanted N (I realize he’s probably going to Miami)?

What I want to know is WTF was Frost & Co doing when we had summer camps? Was he at the lake house instead or drinking margs? I don’t remember the offers and commits we’re seeing from Rhule! Nebraska is going to have a huge reputation for under the radar kids in the future! It will be a destination camp.

seems pretty obvious in hindsight. Summer is golf and lake season, football just got in the way
