The NCAA just couldn’t say no or put rules on itIt really isn’t. The rich will always win out. And it’s on the NCAA for letting it get to this.

Even a Blind Squirrel finds an Acorn every now and then. When Husker Boosters with open checkbooks don't trust him yet he is still protected by his BFF Frost we have a serious problem. If Nebraska lands Mathis tomorrow do the Gerrod jokes go away for a week?
Except the big boys have much more $$$ than we can dream of. We may have a rabid fanbase but not a fanbase with as much financial resources as USC, Texas, Michigan, Ohio State, etc.
We have advantages with like sized schools but not with the power players.
Cause they have boosters paying cash and we have Gerrod L.
If we were organized and competent, sure. But everyone know we are the opposite.
This is a very good point. Nailed it.Our money disadvantage is certainly less than our other challenges. We can compete with most of those schools when it comes to big $$$ business and donors.
We can’t compete when it comes to population, climate, beaches, etc.
I just think one of the things that holds us back in recruiting is distance. Now with NIL you can basically eliminate that by paying for flights/hotel/etcI have a hard time understanding why any Husker fan wouldn’t be feeling like NIL is the greatest thing ever. With all of the recruiting disadvantages we have, we finally have an angle that can leverage our support to compete with the big boys.

He’s well on his way to being the biggest heel in CFB.Riley is on a hell of a run in his quest to make sure he has no friends outside of his own house. Soon he will be hated north, south east and west.
Either way he will build a powerhouse at USC sooner than later. He’s well on his way to being the biggest heel in CFB.
So spot on. It’s the norm, get on board or get left behind. All of CFB has become the SWC of the early 80's. We are all embracing the inner Jackie Sherrill and it's suddenly fine.
In a way wouldn’t it have been better for the receiver to announce he was entering the portal and let other schools get into a bidding war? I think you’re going to see this scenario more and more in the future especially with kids like him who do well at a school which doesn’t have the funds of the big time programs. Going back to the old transfer rule would make it so this didn’t happen as much.So many can's of worms being opened with NIL. Sure seems like USC had recruited the WR before he entered the portal as he announces he is in the Portal and USC already had a financial package ready for him. Something smells rotten. Expecting to see more of this as not only coaches but NIL companies reach out to players with opportunites.
If I was Frost I would honestly cut back on recruiting high school players not from our area and go mainly after Transfer Portal players. Sign a high school player that blows up and he can transfer for $$$ or a more successful team without sitting out. Sign a Transfer Portal player and if they blow up they have to sit out a season if they chase the fame & $$$$. You can go after the successful players in the portal that are looking to make a buck and get more exposure combined with the younger talented yet unproven players who are leaving a school after 1-2 seasons.
Each team needs to find their way of making it work when it comes to NIL and poaching other team's players or not getting our own rosters poached. I have no issues signing the talented 4-5 star players from Bama, Ohio St, USC....... that are wanting to see the field sooner.
That’s what the DT from ASU did. Got in the portal before May 1, hoping ASU was the highest bidderIn a way wouldn’t it have been better for the receiver to announce he was entering the portal and let other schools get into a bidding war?
