Lincoln Northeast vs Lincoln southwest

Good lord those two schools must be on the very opposite ends of town.
Correct.

South Lincoln is clearly better than north Lincoln
I grew up in Havelock and have lived almost all of my life on the north side of town except for a few years. When I worked on the south side of town, I was trying to explain to a customer where Hockenbergs was on Cornhusker. They said, "Is that past O Street?" I replied, "Yes." They then said that they don't go north of O Street. I thought that was pretty funny. I have always preferred the north side. Everything stays open later and everything you need is much closer together. Generally the people are just nicer too.

My grandparents lived in havelock and loved it there. Couple blocks from the BNSF railyard where my grandpa worked.

Anyways, I was actually talking about havelock the other day, anyone remember the old penny candy store in the havelock?

That place was great.

Patsy's. She used to give you a while bag of candy for Halloween. You could go in there with change and walk out with a load of candy.

We lived on 72th and Yosemite Rd till my parent's divorced and then we moved with my mom to house on 68th and Ballard. My grandparents lived two houses away from each other on 72nd and Seward, which is how my parent's met.

Shoot. Had to look.
They lived right off 67th and Platte where my grandparents lived and dad was raised.

Thank you for the Patsys pull, for the life of me couldn’t think of it.
Yup no problem. Shop EZ and Elmer's were popular then. I'm trying to think of that guy's name who use to wear funny hats and make that train noises while riding his bike. Supposedly he was hit by a train.

Truly one of the greatest people.
Looking back Havelock was basically its own small town in the 90s.
It’s been about 20 years since I moved away from Nebraska and haven’t been back to havelock since. But I hope it still has that feel.

South Lincoln was cool to grow up in, but it was just an <insert generic city> vibe.

Late last year my mom had moved in with my sister on the south side of town because she can't live on her own now. We ended selling her house and now I really have no reason to go down there. I still have family there, but not immediate family. It still has that same feel. My mom's house was right next to the old original brick road that has not been replaced. It's the last one left I believe. I live in the Fallbrook area now.
