Kinda surprised we are still recruiting him. Penn State and Pitt aren’t recruiting him, for awhile it looked like Tennessee but they cooled as well. Smart and athletic player just a bit of a tweener, small for a LB but too big for a safety. Probably looking at him for the Isaac Gifford role.

I mean…this makes sense though doesn’t it? If you have all your guys working on recruiting portal players you’re not going to have as many resources available to recruit HS players during that time.

Not saying it’s not a problem, but I guess I’m not worried about our coaches’ ability to make up ground at this stage in the game.

Sure, there are reasons for it. But if other schools can do both at the same time and not fall beind on HS recruting, then Nebraska is losing important ground. There should be enough staff to recurit both HS and the portal at the same time.

The turnover in their recruiting department probably doesn't help.

Concentrating on the portal can not be the excuse. Should be enough staff to spread around. They don't have their DL coach on campus yet, the STC hasn't been replaced yet...need to get guys out and pounding the pavement.

Amazing we seem to struggle on the OL but still let kids go to other B1G schools.

Do we? This might have been true for a long time, but OL has been way down my list of issues the past 2 years. Donnie seems to be coaching his room decently well.

How much of this is that we changed both offensive & defensive coordinators, and clearly changing both offensive philosophy & what we're looking for in the defensive backfield? I imagine a fair number of previously potential recruits are going to be intentionally left behind.
