actually, the story for a 2025 is not that bad.

You tell them you fully expect DR is so good he'll leave after his true junior year for the NFL. By then you will be just a RS soph. The two oldest guys in the room are just you and Kaelin, and maybe Kaelin won't even be there - he may decide not to wait until he is a senior to play (or a junior if he can RS - which won't happen if he needs to play more than 4 games one year because DR is banged up).

I've come around to believe we ought to be able to attract a '25 because Raiola is probably not here 4 years, and the room is currently very thin.

And where can a top 25' QB go where there isn't another good QB from '24? You always gotta be behind another big recruit and any room that is empty will take a transfer. So a young QB should just go where they like best. Trying to finesse a depth chart spot is really tough.

I wonder how much Dayton Raiola factors into a recruit's decision? Not that him going to Nebraska is a lock but it has to be something to think about.
