Are there actually any legit steakhouses in Omaha? Every one I've been to has been a bit of a let down. Gorat's and Johnny's fine for the history.

Chains - Mahogany, Flemings

Local(?) - 180 Chophouse, The Committee

Couple others probably.

I'm sure there's better if you're pompous enough but they're legit.

I've always thought the same. Haven't been to the ultra high end ones, but even the highly rated ones I go to are fine - not amazing.

I may just be spoiled from getting some strips from Just Good Meat & doing them up perfectly at home.

I can't say it's worth it. There's no such thing as $300+ bill for 2 being worth it.

Having said that it's definitely a better steak than your home cooked one.

No. The best steak I've ever had was at a fancy Mexican restaurant in LA. Couldn't even tell you the name. I went from moderately - very inebriated during that meal as well.

Jim has a very refined palate. This is the word. Drover has best steak lunch in town. Many say Flemings is better than Masmugany. 801 is 1A/1B. Committee excellent but will cost ya
