My brain struggles to comprehend how he’s been such a colossal fucking failure. So much like Frost (with new assts, maybe, not holding my breath), I really thought he was the guy.
Again, after hearing Cook talk about how shit the athletic department has been for 20 years, it sounds like just an overall cultural issue. Schools with good ADs are good in almost everything. It’s extremely rare that a school is only good at 1 or 2 sports. Look at tOSU, OU or even fucking Baylor. Baylor is good at almost every sport on campus.

That's because they let their players rape whoever they want. Volleyball probably being the biggest culprits. Those poor boys on campus.

I just don't know how they are supposed to be better next year?

They are going to blow it up again. They need to figure out a way to get a few guys to come back. Why would they? I have no fucking clue.

Somebody should have asked Fred if it was fun getting deep dicked by Chucky yesterday.... Considering he is what this team is missing. Good PG and defender.

I doubt the plan is to blow it up again. It may happen if chemistry is so fucking shit that guys just want out, but I think Fred has pieces he should be able to build on.

Or he doesn't. Either way

I mean by blow it up I mean you are likely losing what? 3/4 starters?

The only way Fred isn't here next year is if he steps down. Other than that he's not going anywhere because Turd isn't paying that buyout.
He might walk if he got a NBA front office position. (don't see it) He should be fired, but he won't be. I'd say the buyout is one thing, but how you could not fire Frost and then turn around and fire Hoiberg....the optics of that look terrible imo. So Nebrasketball has higher expectations than football now? lol. I think that reason is enough that Fred will be back.

I think we should give Hoiberg a few more years to figure it out. We suck, we've always sucked. We might suck some more, or he will figure out how turn it around.

I don't really give a shit about basketball though

Agreed, plus looking at some incoming guys Ramel Llyod and Keita are exciting prospects to me. Seem like they could fit the big ten better. I think that's been the problem. It's likely a problem they won't fix either. The run and gun, out shoot people personnel thing isn't working. I don't ever see it working in the big ten. Teams just bully our beloved Nebrasketballerz 🥺

We won’t fire him but I don’t think he comes back. The tank was a quarter empty when he took the job, it’s on fumes now
He just hasn’t been that involved & has relied too much on Turtle to build the roster
Turtle is a great recruiter but knows dick about roster building. Fred fukd up by not being more involved or have competent assistants involved

I don't think it's a big ten fit thing. This team wouldn't compete in any major conference with how they play defense and how they shoot.

I do think it can be both. They aren't physical at all.

At one point UW was 8/11 on 3PT. That just comes down to wanting to play defense. This is so mind bottling to me b/c Doc's Teams were always known for their scrappy defense which kept them in games due to their lack of shooting ability.

In my opinion the optics of expectations wouldn't be nearly as bad as the buyout. IF it was affordable, firing Hoiberg for absolutely circling the drain with no progress whatsoever during his entire tenure isn't QUITE the same as firing Frost after what a large chunk of the fanbase saw as "being so close." I don't think most fans would bat an eye about firing Hoiberg after the pathetic display we keep seeing, but firing Frost would have been a very hard sell, regardless of whether it was warranted (which I think it was).

But either way, it doesn't matter. His buyout is waaayyy too high to dream of it. Gotta just embrace witnessing history at this point and see just how bad it gets.
