I’m hoping it doesn’t turn out this way…but Frost is retained

Turd said at B1G media days that he isn't an AD to slap a win total on a coach. He said he is interested in seeing incremental sustainable improvement.
Can't say we're seeing that.

He has also been up there saying how proud he was of this team, coaches and of Frost. Turd seems like the guy that if he wanted to make a move he wouldn't say anything and just make a change after the season.
I realize they've been posturing to be in a position to keep him. I think that's beyond baffling, but I think a game like Minnesota starts forcing their hand. They want to keep him. I get that. I just don't think you can. Feels pretty irresponsible from a business side of things.

How can you promote you're serious about winning to the fanbase if you retain Scott Frost? Fans need to step up and say this is unacceptable. If Scott Frost's name wasn't Scott Frost I think that'd be a pretty easy ask.

Actually Coach O’s issues is more due to off the field issues then on field. They make the Frost Gate 25 rumors seem like child play.
I heard on a podcast yesterday that Coach O was just as interested in leaving LSU as LSU was in him leaving and that his off the field issues were pretty rough.

Reports that he inserted children of his prospective sexual conquests into practice drills and hit on a pregnant boosters wife by implying that nothing would be wrong with banging one out whilst she was pregnant and married seem like concerns.

He basically came out and said Frost wasn't set up for success prior to him being here.

I tend to agree given what has been said about Moos. BTW that does not mean I think Frost is the guy... I just think he wasn't put in a position to succeed given how young of HC he was. JMO

I don't understand the line of thinking that he wasn't set up for success being an excuse to retain him when success has been within his grasp so many times only for him to shit the bed.

Did get in a physical altercation with a booster and has had one of his girlfriends actually show up to a practice and cause drama

Yes you can... it just comes down to what you are looking at.

Is OL play better or worse post MSU?
Is special teams play better or worst post MSU (minus an injured kicker)?
Is RB play better?
Is the defense playing better?
Is Martinez playing better (yes he didn't play perfect vs MN, but was also not 100%)?

JMO the micro is getting better pretty much across the board currently. The MN game had more to do with a team who was emotionally drained after 8 weeks of very emotional football. That being said you need to find a way to win ugly games. Ugly wins are always better than pretty losses and that is something I worry about this program currently.

Turd has already said he sees this team getting better.

At the end of the day Turd has said what he believes he will use to make decisions. He has also said what he thinks of Frost YTD. You either think he is lying or aren't listening to him.

Can't say you are wrong, but his name is Frost.

The big thing I will say between Frost and Billy C/HCMR is Frost's team is still playing hard and getting better. For as long as that continues. Both of them quit and started getting boat raced. This team with this schedule has had every opportunity to go belly up.

More likely scenario is that you two end your blood feud, carry on a passionate adulterous love affair, and then settle down and live out the end of your days in a fixer upper house in the midtown area of Omaha or in the Benson area of Omaha with all of the other hippies
I would never live in Benson.

I am not saying that is a reason to retain him. I am simply saying why Turd doesn't care about what happened before.

I remember Damon last year saying he felt like there wasn't enough help from the administration. That was before Moos was on the way out.

Moos basically said good luck buddy we will talk in January... I know that is a bit of hyperbole, but you compare that to a weekly meeting, an AD who is at practice, etc... I think Turd has set healthy guidelines for Frost.

I wish someone would go beyond vague "help" and "support". What was Frost not getting that he needed to win the games he's lost? (I know you don't have answers)

Yes you can... it just comes down to what you are looking at. : 3-5...continually underachieving. Not his 1st or 2nd year. Clear pattern so I disagree. There was improvement until last week. Scott Frost has said himself this is the best team he's had.....3-5. I mean if that's improvement...yikes.

Is OL play better or worse post MSU? better
Is special teams play better or worst post MSU (minus an injured kicker)? it went from a colossal train wreck to ok.
Is RB play better? I'd say no. They can't run anything up the middle. Option game and outside runs are helping stats. Average B1G backs at best imo. I don't view Rhamir as anything other than a back that will take what is given to him. There isn't a back on the roster that can create anything. I'm holding out hope for Yant.
Is the defense playing better? No. First punt for Minnesota was in the 3rd quarter. But it's been pretty good this year no doubt.
Is Martinez playing better (yes he didn't play perfect vs MN, but was also not 100%)? No. He's been playing well, but it's still the same issues with reads and decision making that will always hold him back to a extent. He is what he is, that will never change at this stage in his career.

You're also 3-5 with a 4th year starting QB and a older defense. If you're looking at long term trajectory I don't see something that is legitimately building to compete for B1G west championships. "We're close" - to being competitive....eh maybe. To winning big? Hell no.

Then recruiting....woof. That ain't getting any better any time soon. Long term I don't see much of anything to like minus some of the current talent on the roster. But if you can't do anything with it anyway.....what's the point.

The most obvious example I can think of prior to Turd is the Mo Washington situation. That should have been handled at the AD level IMO.

The most obvious example is Frost growing as a coach. You look at his attitude post Michigan and how he was more positive then he would typically be after a loss. Then you look at how Frost was after the 1st half of NW. Pissed off that the defense let up and we put the ball on the carpet. Turd told a story on Bussin with the boys about Blaise (the HOF UNO hockey coach) how Turd notice him doing the same thing.

I am sure this is something that for every 1 that you see there are 10+ that happen behind the scenes, but those are the few that I can point out off the top of my head. I do agree though that I wish I knew more of those situations. You consistently hear people say he is a good coach, but wasn't ready for how big the Nebraska job was. I think that has to do more with off the field than it does on when people say that.

I am not for or against firing Frost. I can see both arguments. I just think the question Turd is going to ask at the end, Is Frost the solution or the problem? I don't think that has to do with wins in the past. I think that has to do with the day to day grind and execution given what Turd has said.

In all seriousness, what guidelines does an AD need to set for a coach to succeed?

If Frost didn’t have access to resources, I’d put that on the AD - but I haven’t heard any concerns like that?

If Frost doesn’t know how to act like an adult or lead a program without an AD holding his hand - doesn’t really seem like he should be leading a Power 5 program to me.

He’ll probably be retained because he’s Scott Frost, but based on results he should be gone.
