My dentist recently mentioned I might have sleep apnea due to the wear pattern on my teeth which led me to digging and I have started taping my mouth shut and using nasal strips to open up breathing through my nose while sleeping and the difference has been tremendous.

Before it was a huge struggle even getting up in the morning and after lunch I really struggled focusing on work after my morning energy burned off, not to mention need an enormous amount of caffeine to get to the gym afterwards. Also would sleep in super late on the weekends which I assume was my body trying to make up for the poor sleep quality during the week even though I would get around 8 hours each night.

Since I implemented the mouth tape and nasal strips I’ve been waking up way more refreshed and have an even amount of energy throughout the day that I didn’t think was possible. Really been life changing. I’m also on the younger side at 29 and not overweight and take my fitness seriously so I didn’t think it would be possible for me to have an issue like this but just goes to show how important it is to stay in tune with your body when stuff starts feeling off.

I do this from time to time and always feel better in the morning

If you think you may have sleep apnea, I strongly encourage seeing a sleep specialist, sleep apnea can cause severe long term problems if not treated. Sounds like your a healthy guy so the typical lose weight and it will get better wouldn’t apply to you

Deviated septum? I got surgery 2 years ago after not being able to breath out of my nose for 10 years and it’s made a massive improvement on my sleep/life style
Could be, I just started getting allergies in the last few years (triggered by the COVID vaccine I’m pretty sure) and I think that is what has been the issue.

No hacks, but everyone should ensure they are drinking enough water.

If anyone also struggles with grass/trees/ragweed allergies look into immunotherapy allergy shots.

Life changing for me
