HC/AC coaching changes thread

On TW to SDSU: they're going offense with the hire.

SDSU might have the largest disconnect from market/product of any program in the country. San Diegoans want to support the program but it's been probably the single most boring product to watch, including the big ten west, over the last few years. They just opened a really expensive, brand new stadium and attendance is garbage. This was a contributing factor to their complete whiff on Pac-12 membership before it disintegrated. You need something competitive and exciting to compete with San Diego itself

That said, just buzzed over to AztecMesa (their board) and tony is their #1 guy fuck. Better hope Aranda gets canned

I'm really worried we're going to lose white and keep satterturd this offseason.

Just kill me.

The Rashaad Penny and Donnel Pumphrey years were pretty fun to watch… takes a real football junkie to appreciate that type of football though.

Brady Hoke was only making $200k more than Tony White is now as a HC. I think what we'll be able to offer White after this season will be enticing enough to stay.

Not to mention, there aren't too many DC's that have worked out as HC's that I can think of off the top of my head sans Venables at OU. Aranda is falling apart at Baylor and I'd consider him one of the best defensive minds in the nation.

Lord Saban and King KIRBS were both DCs. It feels like the salary bit will be much more prohibitive than the side of the ball he coaches though.

White should wait around until a good P5 HC job opens up, if being a HC is what he wants

Elko and Lanning are the only two recent examples of success and both guys are pretty steady. Most of the time you end up with a Muschamp.

Defensive in-game coaching is much more reactive than proactive and it's also far more anxious. A good DC thrives in chaos and a good OC can minimize the effect of chaos.

Most coaches who become head coaches fail. It's just a hard job
