This one makes no sense to me. If Chip wants to keep coaching because he's tired of the landscape in CFB, take your check from UCLA while you wait for a decent opportunity in the NFL. Because an OC role in CFB is still going to have the same NIL, recruiting & retention headaches that a HC has ... but at 1/6th the pay. Dumb.

He was almost fired before he beat USC so it's probably better for him to phone it in another 9 months and get his buyout
