Gubernatorial Thread

I've met Herbster twice, he is a fucking idiot and literally not from Nebraska.

Pillen at least is smart and didn't grow up with extreme wealth.

I hate people like Herbster, their greatest life achievement was being born.
I'm going to vote for Pillen because of this post @God is a Husker

Also going to vote for Pillen because Trump endorsed herbster

Unfortunately, Pillen's commercials seem like he's just using Trump's classic whiny culture war bits but they seem tamped down because he looks like Mr. Rogers. And it'll probably work.

Have you seen the Pillen commercial where he is just standing holding a shotgun the entire time?

Lol we get it bruh you like the 2nd amendment

Also, literally not a “hot topic” issue in this state where we don’t have a gun fetish like other red states.

Are there a lot of older farmers with unregistered rifles and shotguns? I would assume so.

It would be interesting to see an updated graph since the pandemic and associated gun buying spree to see what the percentages look like now. Also, I can completely understand needing a big assed gun in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming as they have some critters up there that will fuck your shit up should you encounter them. Arkansas (and the south in general) is infested with wild pigs and the boars are fully capable of maiming or killing you as well, so they get a pass. West Virginia has bears and hillbillies, and both probably need deterrence that only a big assed gun provides.

when I was in law skewl the research on the topic was that the majority of Nebraskans live in the Omaha or Lincoln metros

the majority of those people are younger Baby Boomers, Gen X and Millennials who moved to those metros FROM rural Nebraska

the majority of them have parents or grandparents still in rural Nebraska who have guns (registered or not) and didn't take their guns with them to Omaha/Lincoln because why would you need them there? "If I need a gun I'll go home and get one." or "If I'm going to go hunting it will be back home anyways so why do I want my shotguns or deer rifle here in my swimtown or lincoln apartment?"

the report/research was basically that Nebraskans are largely: a) pragmatic, b) not from the city but live there now, c) still have family ties to rural Nebraska

it made a lot of sense to me because for me like everybody I knew who was "from Omaha" or "from Lincoln" were not actually from there originally. (usually their parents moved there and thus begun the first generation of swimtown entitled pricks)

Well, my Dad was from Hartington and Mom was from a small town in Viborg, SD. I guess I qualify as a first generation Swimtowner as I was born here, though I generally don't consider myself a prick ... unless someone continues to refer to me as a prick, and then I can get a little prickish.

Anyone else getting ads for Herbster in the video box on the scrolls? Would be a fun thread to ask Dean why a board that doesn't allow politics lets political ads be broadcasted. I would but I am @bant.
He clearly has no problem with politics considering he started The Open Scrolls and allows it to be a complete 24/7 shit show

Rivals sells ads. Companies buy them. They put whatever in the ad slot independent of Dean's wishes

I'm not sure if I qualify or not. Parents grew up in Omaha moved to Yutan. I grew up in Yutan moved to Omaha.
