OP of course it's an A. No question. GBR!What’s your take?
I think anyone who thinks this is a homerun hire for sure or a horrible hire is a potato. Time will tell one way or another. I have no issue with the hire but will wait and see how it goes. I’ve learned one thing being a Husker fan. Nothing is a sure thing.Jesusto Christo with this. Who the hell were we gonna get that has that? This is way to close to Tater thinking. I’ll call it whipped cauliflower substitute. With all due respect.
Contract doesn't matter. They can afford to pay itB on the coach but C- on the contract. 8 years woof
Grade it on a curve all you want. I ain't about that lifeJesusto Christo with this. Who the hell were we gonna get that has that? This is way to close to Tater thinking. I’ll call it whipped cauliflower substitute. With all due respect.
Agree. Seems like it falls somewhere between an A- and a B+
I agree with these 2 so gave it a BThis. But it’s a very good hire IMO. An A would have been Urbz.
Answer the question then. Nebraska has never and WILL never hire the Tater Coalition’s required coach.Grade it on a curve all you want. I ain't about that life
Precisely. I think it has potential to be a home run but the ball is still in the air. Acting like Nebraska was EVER going to pull this mythical proven P5 coach ignores absolutely everything about reality.I think anyone who thinks this is a homerun hire for sure or a horrible hire is a potato. Time will tell one way or another. I have no issue with the hire but will wait and see how it goes. I’ve learned one thing being a Husker fan. Nothing is a sure thing.
It doesn't matter if I have a specific name or not. Rhule hasn't won conference titles which is what I'd view as an A hire. Sorry you disagree but you won't last long around here being an irredeemable cuntAnswer the question then. Nebraska has never and WILL never hire the Tater Coalition’s required coach.
Who has won a conference title that would leave their situation to come here, then? If you can’t answer a question, then maybe you need to stop accusing others of being a cunt. Like I said, grade on a curve all you want. I'll enjoy the next few weeks of your presence here.Who has won a conference title that would leave their situation to come here, then? I haven’t even given a grade, so are you just gonna avoid the question forever? What about this one: what about Nebraska makes you think that a coach who has won a conference championship with the team they have is going to jump at the chance to come here? There are only so many coaches that have done it. So what do we have to offer that they don’t already have?Like I said, grade on a curve all you want. We know how this will go. I'll name a.name, you say no he wouldn't, then ill say yes he would. Etc.
It's a pointless exercise to name names. Why did Lincoln Riley leave OU to go to USC when he had it all? But regardless of your perceived feasibility of moving whatever the full universe candidates is, Rhule hasn't shown that he can win at that level. I like the hire, I think it's the best we could do, and if that's a B that's a BI haven’t even given a grade, so are you just gonna avoid the question forever? At a certain point, acknowledging what Nebraska is and always has been has got to factor in.
I agree. Rhule was in the second group of candidates after the obvious, and perhaps unrealistic, batch of proven big time winnersof the guys who are "available", I'd say he's in the top 5
1) Urban - clear top coach available, but he comes with baggage and who knows how badly he even wants to coach
2) Petersen - great record and impeccable reputation. may not be an option as he's never said he definitely wants to coach again
3a) Rhule
3b) #2ndChoice
3c) Lane
the order of the last 3 depends on what you value, but Lane has some baggage and doesn't seem to last long anywhere so far. #2ndChoice is a great option, but he's only won at 1 place and has never had to do a rebuild
Rhule checks a lot of boxes in terms of coaching style, experience, age, etc. who knows if he'll succeed, but he's by far the best coaching hire (judged at the time of hire) since TO stepped down
Because USC had something to offer him that OU didn’t. I’m asking, what do we offer that no one else does? Looking for the insight into this line of thinking.
