Just one more thing for teams to prep for & keep in ur back pocket. Colorado I think they used him as a diversionI think Rhule has some weird guilt complex about HH.
Backups in nowMy gawd our defenders feet are stuck in mud tonight. Constantly out of position, in the wrong position, etc.
Good thing that guy tripped on his own feet.
There was just no reason for him to be anywhere near the kicker thereThis is why I don't like going too hard to block punts. Will get more roughing calls than blocks.
And I do love blocking punts - we used to be one of the best at it. It has to be done at a better angle. Not at the kicker, at where the ball ultimately will leave his foot. I know that game is fast and these are snap things, but this is why, unless you have a really salty guy who is quick as hell and has the IQ to know what to do, and more importantly NOT to do, it is playing with fire.
With teams having 3 protectors back there it just doesn't make sense to try a block. Why not set up a return and take advantage of the numbers? This is why I don't like going too hard to block punts. Will get more roughing calls than blocks.

I'm mostly of the opinion that if you don't have a dude who knows how to block punts, you're wasting your time. I guess there were the Beamer Ball teams that do it on the reg, but those seem like they're dead and goneThis is why I don't like going too hard to block punts. It's a lot harder to block punts since teams went almost exclusively to the three man shield in front of the punter. This is why I don't like going too hard to block punts. Will get more roughing calls than blocks.

Beat me to it.With teams having 3 protectors back there it just doesn't make sense to try a block. Why not set up a return and take advantage of the numbers?
