This is the best video I have found.....The line can be drawn a little to the left and that's a different picture. Regardless it wasn't definitive either way. Haven't seen an after the fact picture that even helps. Call stands.
This is the best video I have found.....
First angle fairly confident he is short
Second angle 60% sure he got it
That is also how the linesman spotted the ball. I don't know how they determine who spots the ball. @alt f4 what is the procedure for who gets to spot it?
Regardless if it isn't clear it isn't getting overturned and it was too close to be made at the refs.
Yeah, that makes sense. With Chris Jones positioned where he was, the ref on the bills side probably couldn’t see him.One official had him across (Bills sideline) and other short (KC sideline). As the officials ran in for the spot, the KC side official was indicating he had a great spot -- running in and killing the clock, other official (Bills sideline) jogged in and didn't give a dead ball signal.
They'll get on their o2os (official two official) headset and relay which spot to use and who has a better one.
Watching it live I thought he got it by a half of football or more. Here's where I had him. Initially short and then a second push forward which got him the first.

You said "If you’re relying on a spot to pick up 6 inches you don’t deserve to be in the Super Bowl." The Chiefs relied on that which makes that more than a bit contradictory. So coming up a foot short as you admitted means you are deserving of playing in a Super Bowl?
I am one to believe that the teams that play in super bowls who need a foot generally get it. But I suppose those were the days before the nation starting getting way too upset about perfectly legit calls.

I never once said that the Bills deserved to be in the Super Bowl, I thought that your statement "don’t deserve to play for a ring” is a bit hyperbolic.

It appears your green line is off by half a football. You can see it in your first picture. One official had him across (Bills sideline) and other short (KC sideline). My green line is correct. The line to gain is always the backside of a big line which is the side closest to your own end zone.It appears your green line is off by half a football. You can see it in your first picture.View attachment 49262
It appeared he was looking right down the center. My green line is correct. The line to gain is always the backside of a big line which is the side closest to your own end zone.
