Elite - except for that scoring points part.
If we're being real here though. They move the ball despite their many deficiencies. They need to get much better in the red zone and that will hopefully come as a result of better OL play and hopefully more consistency from the running backs.

Even if you aren't bullish on this changing anything (which I'm not), I think that most of us can agree that an even worse plan would be overhauling the entire offense to run the Wing T/whatever other offense people want

You forgot to mention better coaching. At the top.

I agree he's going to have to find someone that can run something similar to what they have been running and have personnel to run now. He doesn't have the luxury of time anymore to totally start over on offense again. I just thought it was funny that he was talking how they had been "Elite" on offense but he just fired 4 of his offensive coaches and is supposedly relieved himself of play calling duties, I might have taken his quote out of context though.

I assume nothing is taken out of context and he's just not very good at speaking to the media.

I figured they’d figure out how to win at least one of the FUBAR games one of these years. We’re 3-7. The fuck you asking this kinda question for? I swear some of you don’t have eyes that work. That, or you have no expectations.
I was curious if you could articulate why things are worse than you thought, as opposed to just repeating the same talking points over and over and over and over again in every thread.

I’m admittedly no expert, but I feel like our offense moved the ball well and there are often open guys who Amart doesn’t see because he can’t read defense or the offensive line doesn’t give him time - why do people want to completely overhaul the offense?

Again, uneducated opinion, but feels to me like if we had better protection and a fast blinker at QB, we’d really have something. Maybe someone with more expertise can point out where I’m wrong?

Agreed. Better overall OL + "fast blinker" and we're definitely onto something here. Next year at WR we'll still have Manning, Betts and Martin (I think?) along with young guys Brown and Nixon, we have guys all over the field who can make things happen if we just have a decent point guard facilitator at QB.

RB run game needs work but an improved OL and just an organized approach in general should help with that too of course.

A lot of talk about offensive changes...I felt like the offense had a chance to really improve when Corcoran got moved over to the right side and Prochazka came in. That was the right move to make. Corcoran looks much more comfortable on the right side and Prochazka looks to be the most talented OL recruit Nebraska has had in a long time.

I think firing the OL coach and QB coach were something that must happen. You either had to demote Lubick or fire him. And if you're letting them go then with the running back position not being developed much you had to let Held go as well.

These hires are obviously very important. Especially at OL. But let's get real, next season hinges on three things:

1) if they can find a QB that actually understands you can't hold the ball for 5 seconds and values possession.
2) a place kicker that isn't a head case
3) a punter that can actually punt

Well, no not exactly. I'll be honest I enjoy his non PR honesty. I like the speaking from the mind instead of speaking from a script. What was shitty to me is saying he could "potentially" hire a full time ST coach, and that he wasn't looking to make wholesale changes to the offense, just "fresh ideas". Our ST has been ass and our offense sputters like crazy. That's what bothers me.
I'm not saying he needs to read from a teleprompter or script like O'Bama did. But he needs to be more refined in how he addresses the media. He struggles getting his message across while be likeable and not putting his foot in his mouth at times. Just not a gifted public speaker and doesn't look comfortable answering questions. But many of those skills can be taught and learned. Like you mentioned about "potentially" hiring a Special Teams coach. So many different ways he could have put that. He could have said he considers himself an Offensive Minded Coach and our numbers were good in most areas but he feels we need to really increase our offensive production and efficiency to compete in the B1G. As for Special Teams and hiring a Special Teams Coach by answering like he did he opens himself up for so much criticism.

I guess 1 question I have is if we do have someone who takes over Special Teams from Dawson, who basically was given the title, then do we really need 2 Linebacker Coaches? Our DC doesn't coach a position but was a Linebackers Coach. At times it is hard for us to know what the coaches duties truly are.

Look at Oklahoma their coaching titles as only 4 of them only have 1 title:
-Lincoln Riley - Head Coach, Quarterbacks
-Alex Grinch - Defensive Coordinator, Safeties
-Dennis Simmons - Assistant Head Coach/Passing Game Coordinator/Outside Receivers
-Cale Gundy - Co-Offensive Coordinator/Inside Receivers
-Bill Bedenbaugh - Co-Offensive Coordinator/Offensive Line
-Calvin Thibodeaux - Defensive Line
-Roy Manning - Cornerbacks
-Brian Odom - Inside Linebackers
-Jamar Cain - Outside Linebackers/Defensive Ends Coach
-DeMarco Murray - Running Backs Coach
-Joe Jon Findley - Associate Head Coach for Offense/Tight Ends & H-Backs

Their business cards must be expensive to print up with all of those titles.

A lot of those titles are just there to justify a pay raise though. I mean...they have co-offensive coordinators and an "associate head coach for the offense" WTH does that even mean....Lincoln Riley is the offensive coordinator lol
