You made some good points but strongly disagree on the above. The national media was over Frost last year. You would have had a very hard time finding a guy who thought there was any likelihood he could turn it around.3) The national media had been making the case the whole time that “Nebraska was close.” Had Turd moved I could see there being some really shitty unwanted and unnecessary press.
I will not be mad if Matt Campbell is the next head coach. That's a good breakdown and makes sense to me. That is until Campbell is announced.
JK... I hope
I’m thinking certain boosters told Turd they wanted Frost retained like the Peeds. I don’t know if they were so adamant they were going to pull money. Everything that happened lines up with what my buddy sent me in texts because his friend’s sister married one of them.So the thinking is that his hands were tied then by the powers that be but these same people aren't going to influence the next coaching hire?
I'm asking bc keeping the politics straight at Nebraska is mind-numbing.
What I think is more pathetic than the Frost “metrics”? Is Nebraska getting trolled by this cum guzzling, pancake nippled, former KVWN Channel 4 reporter, now A&M beat writer. We suck.
(KVWN is the fictional television station from Anchorman.)

Yes, they talked about how many close losses there were but not in a "wow, they are so close to turning this around!" way but in a "Jesus Christ, what a fucking train wreck" kind of way. They love running those close loss stats not because they imply NU is actually pretty good, but because the numbers are so awful as to defy belief.
The media had also universally balked at his contract extension. I read a lot of "why are you extending a guy who already has several years and whom nobody wants" takes. This skepticism of Frost blossomed into full-blown embarrassment that they ever liked the hire by the time last year ended.
I think people who consume a lot of Nebraska media got a significantly more friendly perspective on what losing to everybody but doing it by less points represented.
I guess the lesson learned would be that maybe Turd should be deferred to instead of people outside the program.
If it's my money, though, I'd expect to have a say. That said, if I was saying "we're close" after 4 years of this shit I'd probably be pretty humbled at this point.
That's totally fair. Obviously politics are what they are and aren't changing. I don't think it's naiveté and I don't think people should be "shamed" or "strong-armed" into handing over their money to a university.Maybe I’m totally naive, but it’s very tough for me to blame bad or good decisions made in regards to football on people who don’t hold the power to make final calls. The implication there is that certain people knew better and made poor decisions because they didn’t have ownership of their own business. That kind of absolves a lot of incompetent people of ownership of their shite choices.
If Frost would have won 6 and gotten to a bowl game and Turd had kept him for 2023; Turd owns that choice. Not anyone else, Turd. Just as Turd owns the choice of firing Frost. Just as he owns the decision he’s about to make on the next head coach. If he chooses wrong, it’s not going to be because some evil boogey man with a fat checkbook forced him to choose wrong. It’s going to be because he himself made a mistake.
If Campbell is the next coach I will probably become an Ole Miss fan. I am firmly against that fucker.
- 1-7 vs Cockeye
- 5-17 in games when the spread is 3.5 or less.
- Last 9 losses have been by 1 score
- When asked about his goals when he had the preseason best ISU team ever he said his goal was to be the most "together" team ever in ISU history.
- Think about if a coach at Nebraska would have said that? What do you think the reaction would be?
- Basically a 500 coach
- Younger, Midwest version of Riley is what he is.
The best case for him is he made a turd smell better at ISU.
"making it MORE impressive"? Is 45-38 impressive just on its face?

That's grasping at straws right there. I also love how our fan base thinks that trends of past coaching success will always work here.

You realize the boosters and TO tell him his every move right? Why does Turd want me to hate him?
I guess the silver lining is that he fired Frost instead of giving him a chance to get to 6 but goddam… that’s just pathetic.
Say it ain’t so, Tone. You realize the boosters and TO tell him his every move right?
Tells you all you need to know about certain boostersThere’s always going to be noise no matter what place you are in. I do think that it’s overblown here.
I’m not sure what lesson would have been learned.
To be clear, I am of the opinion that if Turd would have come to boosters and asked for buyout money last year they’d have said “That’s not a good idea. We are close. Let’s give it more time.” or something to that effect. I have a very hard time believing that a lot of boosters called Turd unsolicited and said “I know you may be thinking about firing Frost, but if you do that I’m pulling my money.” Maybe one or two took this route? I would highly doubt a majority would have.
The rumor is the Peeds fell into the latter category. I am told that the Peeds didn’t foot the buyout bill.
After Georgia Southern though, I don’t think Turd needed to look that deep into his Rolodex to find some people willing to foot a buyout bill.
