Breaking Fitzgerald out at NW

Dude saw the shit storm coming from this and the baseball investigation and said.......

@Faux Sean Callahan He might have been the whistleblower, but per their president "During the investigation, eleven current or former football student-athletes acknowledged that hazing has been ongoing within the football program. In new media reporting today, still more former Northwestern football student-athletes confirmed that hazing was systemic dating back many years. This has never been about one former student-athlete and his motives; this is much bigger than that."

Even if it's true that the whistleblower had an axe to grind or exaggerated or whatever Fitz's fanboys are claiming, the uni has a lot more reports to go by than just the word of that one player. The supposed motives of any individual player are more or less irrelevant at this point.
So 11 out of the 1,000+ players he’s coached over 16 years have issues with hazing. Boo hoo. Bend over and comply to the 1% percent everybody.

The QB whistleblower got benched and had a fall out with Fitz a week before he ran to the papers FWIW.

Can’t wait til Fitz gets hired at a different job and kills it. Northwestern doesn’t deserve him and never have.

Glad you promote sexual assault. Hope you dont have kids in school cause by your logic its okay if its happening for a while and the 1% should just "bend over"

I believe Fitzgerald knew to some extent. I believe what happened wasn't that big of a deal and that's how 99% of people in the program felt about it. It was just locker room silliness that happens everywhere. So they decided to suspend him for 2 weeks because you have to appease the nerds that have never been in a locker room before.

But the nerdy, lib media didn't like the outcome, they love finding victims to put up against a successful person. They found the side of the story they wanted, called Fitzgerald a racist (of which there is no proof) and then got the guy fired and ruined his repuation. That way they can run and tell all their other nerdy media buddies how they were the ones who got a guy fired and ruined his life.

I think @Ducksker (aka Kitty) is just really into the idea of a bunch of dudes having sex. Especially if there's a male authority figure telling him he has to. He seems really upset the boys don't get to have their fun anymore.

FTR I was on here telling Garret that I didnt believe the Frost stories too

Also my view on this story has nothing to do with journalism nerds. Its just not believable to me that a coach was making players dry hump each other for 15 years on a team of 150 and nobody ever said anything
I don’t think he told them to do it. And I’m not sure he knew what was happening. But I believe the whistleblower and the 11 or more that confirmed it.

The racist claims were way off base and way out of line.

I believe that the majority of what we have heard about the "hazing" is probably true. I would take a middle ground, leaning more towards mostly true than mostly made up on this stuff. Quite possible there was some embellishment, but I believe for the most part a lot of this had been happening for a long time there.

I also think that Fitz knew - at least knew there were hazing scenarios going on, maybe didn't know the "details", but even then I bet he knew more than he would ever admit. If there were actually dryboards in the locker room with names and different hazing items on it, no way Fitz or other coaches didn't know about it.

For the record, I never saw anything like this at UNL. My frosh year of high school the seniors tried to haze us. It had rained and there was a big mud puddle - probaby 20 feet by 20 feet - full of water/mud. The seniors broke some glass bottles and threw the shards into the mud puddles then told the freshmen we had to run full speed towards it and slide through it. I refused, and was willing to throw punches if needed. Some other freshman did not refuse and bowed to the pressure. A couple of them had pretty good cuts on their legs from the glass, one kid had to get stitches.

I had some asshole coaches my first couple of years in high school who allowed and supported this stuff. Similar hazing stuff happened for basketball, which I again refused to do. A couple of the seniors in the basketball team stood up for me and even went to the head coach. The coaches were the same for basketball and football, just flip flopped who was the head coach and who was the assistant. The coaches weren't going to do anything about the hazing, but those two seniors who stood up for me, then other frosh, told the coaches they would quit if they didn't put a stop to it. So the coaches reluctantly told the upperclassmen no more hazing.

That's easy to believe. Stuff like that happens all the time. Who is going to rat out the coach and the other players? Staying on the team would be intolerable. Who wants to admit a bunch of guys were dry humping him? If you're a freshmen, maybe you think that if it's happening everyone already knows and looks the other way? Wouldn't you also be afraid no one would believe you?

The fact no one come forward sooner is the easiest thing to believe about this story.

There is zero way that this stuff happens all the time. Out of 1000s of people there would be "rats"

by "stuff like this happens all the time" I mean people get bullied and abused, including sexually abused, all the time and even though they hate it they don't turn people in. It is due to fear and embarrassment.

This is not sexual assault imo. Hazing yes . I would guess this sort of stuff occurs in may high level sports . The higher the testosterone then higher the hazing
